Everyone holds a memory from inside the brick walls of Freeman & Grey at some point in their lives, whether it’s getting down on the dancefloor on a Saturday night, sitting watching the busy street below with a pizza slice in hand, or perhaps just grabbing an after-work drink at the end of a busy week. So, would you believe us if we told you the beloved Ponsonby urban pub is turning seven this year?
And, to celebrate their birthday, the Ponsonby Road residents have been under the knife and come out with a completely new look—including an awesome new outdoor area. And, in total Freeman & Grey style, they’re throwing a month-long party to celebrate the renovations, kicking off with the official re-launch party on Saturday, 23rd March. Think Pimms cups, Coronaritas (corona + tequila = a big yes), and frozen espresso martinis courtesy of BATCHED to cool you down. There will also be electric sets from Eastern Bloc, Louis V, General Lee, Sammie, Don Ross, and Ayden Harris to warm you up. The most exciting part of it all? The free pizza of course. Between 5pm and 7pm on March 23, you’ll be able to pick up a piping hot slice of Freeman & Grey’s famous pizzas for no cost at all. It doesn’t get much better than this.
While Saturday is the big re-launch, every day until April 13th will be a two-floor party at Freeman & Grey. The cocktails will be flowing, music pumping and good vibes radiating.
