We first heard about Freo.Social taking over the Fremantle Drill Hall back in September 2017 and ever since we’ve been waiting with baited breath for news of when it’s going to open. Well, that time has come and we’re excited to announce we’re going to be dancing the night away as soon as 3 April.
Launching with Freo.Week, Freo.Social will open with an intimate performance by none other than local legend John Butler on 3 April, followed by The Waifs on 4 April, SUPEREGO on 5 April and San Cisco on 7 April. Later in the month you can expect performances from Odette, Montaigne and The Milford Street Shakers, and the schedule’s not slowing down into winter with more than 40 shows confirmed for the venue’s Entertainment Hall already.
The hall can hold as many as 550 people and has undergone a $250,000 makeover with updates to the acoustics, the addition of a cutting-edge sound system and extra levels built into the space to enhance the viewing experience.
Otherside Brewing Co. is running the onsite brewery and there’ll be four bars with over 50 taps chugging out the gold stuff. To keep the hunger pangs at bay, three food trucks will be at each gig serving the goods from rotating menus, so there’ll always be something new to try be it Vietnamese, Mexican, pub grub or Jamaican grill.
One Sunday a month Freo.Social will take over the car park for Beer, BBQ & Blues where Otherside will showcase special brews and the BBQ specials will be sizzling all day. The first one kicks off on 19 May.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now, grab yours before they get snapped up.
