Gigi Hadid’s latest collection in collaboration with Reebok just dropped and its pretty fire. Released this morning, the full collection follows on from the success of her preview collection last year.
Driving the design process herself, Gigi dived into the Reebok archives and was immediately drawn to the Freestyle Hi silhouette, originally released in 1982 and the first sneaker ever specifically designed for women. Gigi was inspired by this fact and wanted to bring that same power into 2019, “Growing up, sports played such a big part in my life, and many of the lessons I learned as an athlete have been true guides for me in my personal and professional life.”
Previously a competitive volleyball player, Gigi’s focus for the collection was to empower and inspire women to keep their focus on pushing limits, defying expectations, and becoming their best self.
The collection itself takes design cues from the 90s; tracksuit sets, luxe fabrics and bodysuits. Paring this back with flattering fits and some casual tees, the collection is rounded out with two sneakers—the Freestyle Nova Ripple and Reebok Aztrek.
“I wanted to take classic Reebok clothing patterns and shapes and incorporate new cuts/drops, fresh colourways and fabrics/fits that I knew would be comfortable to workout and sweat in,” Gigi said speaking of the full collection.
The collection is currently available to shop online; we suggest you get in quick.
