The Hamdog is half hamburger half hot dog and it exists right here in Perth… And to be honest, we’re not quite sure how we feel about it. The creator of this crazy hybrid, Mark Murray, has managed to patent the Hamdog and it will be popping up at markets, shows, races and other events around Perth.
At first look, it seems a bit outrageous, but if you dig a little deeper you’ll find out that both the meat patty and the sausage are made using quality WA ingredients—it’s a Bunbury beef patty cut in half with a Hunsa frankfurt in the middle—and the buns are all handmade. To be fair, this might be because there are no machines churning out buns this shape, but it doesn’t change the fact.
