There’s nothing like buying a hot pair of workout pants and discovering half your pilates class are sporting the same pair. Blahh! We get that you love individuality in your sportswear as much as your casual gear (especially as they can be one and the same ammiright ladies?) so we hunted down Perth’s best luxe workout boutiques just for you, dear Listers.

24/7 Lifestyle Studio

Sorrento and Shenton Park

Co-owners and friends Emma Milner and Skaya Martino fuse their love for fitness and fashion in their two stores, which are bursting with beautiful outfits for active lifestyles. The Shenton Park store recently opened, joining Peachy and Chateau Boutique in a fashion huddle around the Nicholson Road roundabout. The inaugural store in Sorrento hosts a range of yoga classes behind the shop, so you can flex your muscles and your credit card in one hit. Both 24/7 Lifestyle Studio stores stock over 20 local and global activewear labels. The only problem we can see here is the threads are so stylish you won’t want to get them sweaty...

ONCE Upon a Run

Given ONCE Upon A Run is the brainchild of West Coast Fever netballer Shae Brown and her West Coast Eagles footballer husband Mitch, you could be forgiven for thinking the pair design their clothing label for elite athletes.

“Whether they are marathon runners or marathon brunchers, we certainly don’t judge,” says Shae. “We like to think our customers are the women and men who live life on the go and actively.”

Comfort is paramount and the label’s aesthetic is simple with a fairly neutral palette (although some subtle colours and patterns are coming in the new collection), so the people wearing the clothes shine. Deck yourself out for 42 kilometres (or 42 bites of pancakes) by heading to the ONCE warehouse, shared with fellow local fashion designer BRUUG. They’re open on Thursdays from 5pm to 7pm and Saturdays from 11am to 3pm - or by appointment.

Pilates Fitness Institute of WA Active Wear Store

The PFIWA studio in Myaree mixes pilates and barre, while the adjoining retail store mixes bright and bubbly labels to make you feel a leeeettle happier as your buns start to burn in them. From the loud and proud patterns of Pitanga Fit and Dharma Bums leggings to the neutral tanks and sweaters adorned with fun quotes from By Luciana, PFIWA has the goods to see you walk (or hobble) from your Barre Attack class to brunch with mates.

Tamara Yoga Shop

Tucked behind Tamara Yoga in Claremont, the Tamara Yoga Shop is a little treasure chest of yogi gems. Ethically conscious brands fill the racks and shelves here, with Zoe Karssen's quirky, patterned tees pulling in the shoppers from the shopfront mannequins. This is the place to completely set up your at-home yoga sanctuary with not only yogi fashion but also lifestyle products including tongue-in-cheek Damselfly candles, yoga mats and equipment, and bold-printed cushions. We also heart the oh-so-pretty Hipanema bracelets we found in-store.

Motion Lifestyle

Napoleon Street is evolving into a health and wellness playground these days. The cream buns of Maid Marion are gone while Baker Street’s artisanal bread has taken their place, Nature’s Harvest has added a café and juice bar to its excellent array of health foods and earlier this year, Perth fitness boutique Motion Lifestyle set up shop. High voltage sports and leisure fashion for women pop from the racks, featuring local and international designers from big brands like Nike and Adidas to smaller luxe labels including Pilot. We especially love Jodhi Meares’ The Upside tanks and Motion’s plentiful supply of colourful sneakers.
