From esteemed chef Chui Lee Luk comes her most recent incarnation Chow Bar & Eating House, which has opened its doors on Crown Street.

Formerly of Sydney dining institution Claude's, Chui has created a modern-Chinese eating and drinking den, fusing exciting hawker-style bites, with Chui's passion for French flavours.

The menu is focused upon share dishes with an extensive beverage list to match. Menu highlights include: Cannon Shot Dumplings with roast pork, shitake, and yam bean; rock oyster pancakes with fermented cabbage and crispy garlic; fried cauliflower with sunflower seed and hot mustard; and Explosive Lamb with dried chili, peanut and Sichuan pepper. For dessert, the avocado blancmange with cocoa jelly, pear and caramelised white chocolate is a standout.

On to the drinks—the wine list ticks all the boxes and there's also a line-up of Chinese beers, but it's the cocktails that really steal the show. Think a Green Tea Pearl Latte spiked with gin, Cointreau, pear and lychee; the Masquerade of vodka, apple liquor and watermelon; and the Hibiscus crafted with vodka, mandarin Napoleon and passion fruit.

Housed in the former Bentley Restaurant & Bar site, the décor boasts an array of Asian flourishes, with an allure that sets it apart.
