For the second year running, Barangaroo reserve will swing its gates open and welcome Sydney siders and tourists for New Years Eve.
If you’re a regular at Blues Point and just don’t feel like battling the same crowd this year, then Barangaroo may be a good option, since you can book your place ahead of time. The whole point is that they want to avoid the same overcrowding that we have become used to, with a total capacity of 12,000 people.
Once you’re in, you’ll be able to sit back and enjoy the merry atmosphere at Sydney’s newest headland. There will be roving entertainers, grassy slopes (they were made for picnicking) and of course, the 9pm and 12am fireworks on The Harbour.
Just as an FYI (we’ve gotta do it), BYO alcohol and glassware will not be permitted into the reserve, but picnics will. In fact, picnics are absolutely recommended.
Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 12 October (tomorrow) and you can get yours here.
