The Hola Mexico Film Festival kicks off Wednesday night at the Chauvel Cinema in Paddington, screening the very best of Mexican Cinema. To celebrate, Sydney's brand new Sol beer and tequila pop-up bar, Hola Sol Festival Cantina, will be operating in full swing—dust off the Sombrero and twizzle your moustache, it's time to get the fiesta started!

Exclusive to the Sydney leg of the festival, The Cantina will feature a week-long program of exciting workshops (such as make your own flower crown), film talks, live music performances and art exhibitions.

As for the cinema, there will be 10 feature films and six documentaries. Highlights include: La Vida Precoz Y Breve De Sabina Rivas (The Precocious And Brief Life Of Sabina Rivas), which was nominated for 11 Ariel Awards, Mexico's equivalent of the Academy Awards; After Lucia, which won the Un Certain Regard at Cannes in 2012; and Tlatelolco, Verano Del 68 (Tlatelolco, Summer Of 68), a love story set against the dramatic backdrop of the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico. Tickets are on sale now via the website.

The Cantina will run at the Chauvel Cinema in Paddington from 6pm-11pm on weekdays and from 2pm-11pm over the weekend.
