Praise Be, The Handmaid’s Tale Sequel Has A Release Date

If you’re a fan of the dystopian tale known as The Handmaid’s Tale, you’re going to want to listen up here. Author Margaret Atwood is bringing us back to that era – scratch that – fifteen years later, with her new novel The Testaments ie. the glorious sequel to the world of Gilead we already know. And to really get us excited, she's dropped the release date and front cover design too.

Mark September 10 down and brace your eyeballs because the front cover is a fresh take on the classic red that has always epitomised the handmaids. Designed by Noma Bar, the cover is a modern and minimalist double image with hidden figures blocked in blue and green.

We’re definitely ready to see how much more the world is screwed up over a decade later especially because Atwood has hinted it’s inspired by today’s events. And even MORE so because Atwood wrote The Handmaid’s Tale in 1985, and it’s a scarily accurate depiction of how the future would unfold for society.

The iconic author has also teased this novel will be narrated by three characters (no one confirmed as yet) but we’re musing over Offred, Serena and… possibly Holly (Offred’s second biological daughter she has in season two).

You’ll want to watch this space for updates on this one but the book is set to drop September 10 2019, for now, we’ll just patiently wait for season three of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning TV adaptation.

Here's every documentary you should have watched by now.
