We love October because it means we have permission to really indulge in our full-blown obsession with all things dark and twisted—it’s Halloween time after all.

So brace yourself because this month we’ve got an extra special trick or treat for you—The Craft reboot is dropping in cinemas, and after peeping the trailer we’re certain you’ll be leaving the lights on at night for weeks to come.

The reboot, which was written and directed by the incredible Zoe Lister-Jones, picks up where the OG left off way back in 1996.

In The Craft: Legacy we meet Hannah (Cailee Spaeny) who moves into a haunted-looking stone mansion in a new town with her mum’s new husband (played by David Duchovny) and his three serial killer-looking sons. So far, so creepy.

Nervous about making a good impression at her new high school, Hannah suffers with what we shall call, an unfortunate period situation while in class, enduring the cruel wrath of popular boy Timmy.

Coming to her aid are three besties (Lovie Simone, Gideon Adlon, and Zoey Luna) who invite Hannah to join their friendship group aka their witches coven. The foursome quickly become close and harness their new found powers to seek revenge on anyone who has done them wrong.

But as we learnt from the first installment of The Craft, those who grow too powerful and become a danger to themselves and others, must be bound. Serious props to Lister-Jones for all the throwbacks to The Craft OG in this reboot, including the oh so iconic ‘we are the weirdos mister’ scene.

From the producers of The Invisible Man and Split (two creepy as hell flicks) The Craft: Legacy has all the hallmarks to truly terrify you. We cannot wait.

In the meantime, scare yourself silly with these nightmare-inducing horror flicks.
