Like something out of a low-budget 80s movie, Marie-Claire is springing from their glossy pages and into your waking reality! I know, it’s like your wildest fantasies are riding in on a sunset of pure chocolate.

Come tomorrow evening, the James St precinct will be furnished with brightly sparkling joy as Marie Claire effervesces into tangibility.

Here’s a glimpse of what’ll be going off this Thursday evening when Marie-Claire Up Late comes to James St. Rally some chums, or go stag, and revel in a wonderland of everything worth eating, drinking and buying. (That is literally our mission statement and we are STRUGGLING TO STAY CALM.)

Shop

It seems like all our favourite boutiques are pulling out all the stops! Special discounts on offer at Zimmermann, Gail Sorronda, and Camilla, but don’t miss out on some incredibly special opportunities to covet and behold:

Celine Trunk Show at Optiko

For everyone who’s ever bookmarked a pair of Celine frames but was too afraid to hit ‘Add to basket’, now is your chance! The full range of eyewear will be displayed at Optiko for your perusal and delight, and when you find those special specs you can order your very own pair on the spot.

Helmut Lang capsule perfume launches at Calexico

Let Helmut Lang into your nasal palate and be one of the first to experience the aromatic wonders. Bursting from one of our favourite boutiques on the strip, make sure you look in at Calexico to see what all the hype is about.

Soft Launch of Andronis Fine Jewellery

To celebrate the opening of their James St store, Andronis Fine Jewellery have saved their soft launch for Marie-Claire Up Late. Feast your eyes on their sparkling bling and add a few more items to your luxe bucket list.

Eat & Drink

Audi’s pit crew are offering refreshment, the Mimco kids are spruiking donuts, and Bucci’s offering two-for-one martinis all night.

Harveys Espresso Martini Lounge

The whole strip is bustling, even the wee patch of green outside Harveys Bistro. Sweet, boozy power-ups will be flowing freely from Harvey’s Espresso Martini Lounge. Just the thing to kick-off your night and set you buzzing.

Taste on a Plate

The exquisite talents of Gerard’s head chef Ben Williamson and party planning maven Kate Moubarak combine in a Middle-Eastern inspired masterclass in the loft of Taste, Brisbane’s iconic culinary wonderland. There will be a sitting at 6pm and another at 8pm. Ticketholders will receive wine and food tastings, Gerard’s recipes to take home, accompanying wine and a gourmet gift bag. Bookings are vital so get clicking

Gerard’s Bar After Party

When the lights start turning, and your arms are laden to capacity, peddle over to Gerard’s Bar and bask in the aftermath of the spree. The ideal meeting point for lost shoppers to regroup and swap spoils.

Meet The Designers

If you’re a proper fashionista (or just really appreciate a nice pair of slacks) you simply cannot miss the chance to throw chat with some of the our most beloved artists and designers.

Lisa Gorman, Gorman

Following the launch of her latest collection, the reigning Queen of Quirk is coming to dole out the hip tips ‘n tricks to all her Brisbane subjects. Make sure you plot out some time to lose yourself in Lisa Gorman’s sartorial splendour, and nab yourself a cardigan.

Nicole Thompson, MAC

As MAC Australia’s senior global artist, Nicole Thompson is the woman behind some of the boldest and most striking make-up looks of Milan Fashion Week. Stop by the MAC store on James St to witness this colour goddess flaunting her stuff.

Sarah Gittoes, Sarah and Sebastian

Known for the refinement and delicacy of their pieces, Sarah and Sebastian’s sleek and minimal designs bring with them that effortless cool of their Sydney birthplace. Co-founder and designer Sarah Gittoes will be hanging out in camargue, showcasing the latest collection and styling tips.
