Nodo Everton Park
Get excited northsiders (especially those of you that are gluten-averse), because Nodo Donuts, Brisbane’s iconic slinger of gluten-free, baked donuts, has opened its ninth store, and this one is on the north side. While we’ve been able to get our fix at kiosks in Chermside and North Lakes for a while, this is the first dedicated Nodo cafe for the north side, and it comes complete with stunning terracotta tiled designer interiors and an outdoor seating area with picnic tables under white umbrellas.

Yo-Chi Paddington
Yo-Chi is Australia's fastest-growing frozen yoghurt brand and after one visit to this bustling fro-yo joint, you'll see why. Brisbane residents now have three venues to choose from when searching for their fro-yo fix, with the recently opened Yo-Chi Paddington slinging up frozen delights to the western ‘burbs alongside their CBD and Garden City locations.

Gaythorne just scored a buttery new cafe from a duo that includes the owner of Hawthorne’s popular Sister Cafe, one dishing up just the essentials for your morning commute or weekend pitstop. With a dog-friendly outdoor courtyard in front of the hole-in-the-wall spot, you can dine in or just grab a coffee and go, depending on how much of a rush you’re in.
Pepe’s Mexican Bayside
One of Brisbane’s favourite Mexican spots, Pepe’s Mexican has just opened a third location over in Wynnum, meaning baysiders can now dig into their famed sizzling fajitas and classic tacos. Taking over the old site of Miss Mexicana, the team have kept the vibrant decor much the same, with bright, colourful walls decorated with hanging greenery, wicker lights and patterned cushions, and long or short tables to accommodate both lively groups and couples on date night.
Spread
Springing from the crew who run Say Cheese, Brisbane’s favourite cheese platter delivery company, Spread knows a thing or two about a good carb and dairy combo. Tucked away on a suburban strip in Camp Hill, the casual but stylish venue is somewhere you’d be more than happy to take a date, but is equally suited for a mid-week family dinner with the kids—and they even do takeaway.
Little G
When standard pizzas just won't do, head for Little G, where a rotating menu board of specials features reimagined slices like nothing you've ever tasted before, and even the regular pies are a cut above average. While original owners Danielle and George Diacos have hung up their proverbial apron and chefs hat, the Woolloongabba pizzeria has been left in the very capable hands of new owner (and pizza lover) Monica Emerich. Meanwhile, the restaurant's sous chef of four years, Lucas Yamanaka, has taken over as co-head chef with best friend and up-and-coming superstar, Enzo Gajardo, who are continuing to nail the art of the perfect Roma-style crust.
Fratelli
Paddington just scored a new laneway Italian restaurant, one that’s sleek and stylish enough for date night but also relaxed enough that you won’t feel out of place popping in for a casual weeknight dinner. Landing right on Given Terrace, Fratelli is easy to spot by its red and white striped awning, with seating available in the stone-walled dining room or outside on the breezy deck.
Melrose
Hidden away just off Oxford Street in Bulimba you'll find Melrose, a dreamy restaurant and bar that has just been taken over by experienced husband and wife duo, Paul and Anna Adams. Originally designed to feel like one of Bali’s luxe beach clubs and resorts, a fully retractable roof means this spot has all the rooftop vibes—we recommend getting a booking for just before sunset, so you can get the full effect but still finish your meal under the stars.
James & Antler
The team behind Mitchelton’s hottest cafe Mitch & Antler have taken one of their best-selling menu items, the croque madame—a magnificent sourdough toastie packed with smoked ham, manchego and egmont cheese and mustard and leek cream, topped with a fried free-range egg—and placed it front and centre in their newest addition to the James Street precinct, James & Antler. Don’t let size fool you, this container cafe may be tiny but it is serving up massive flavour.
QuĂŞ Dining
In case you hadn’t noticed, Newport on the Redcliffe peninsula has scored a slew of delicious eateries recently, all of them worth the drive north. One of those eateries is Quê Dining, a sleek and stylish new Vietnamese spot from the team behind Paddington’s Ngon. As well as a stunning dark green fit out, here you’ll find elevated Vietnamese fare that will leave you wanting more.
C’est Du Gâteau
Opening on 12 October is C’est Du Gâteau, Brisbane’s newest French bakery and patisserie. Landing on Grey Street in South Bank, this heavenly spot comes to us from two French pastry chefs, Sebastien and Fred, who’ve worked their way around Europe and Brisbane, and are now keen to share their croissant-making skills with the South Bank masses.
Ramen Danbo Pimpama
Ramen Danbo has come a long way from their origins in Chikushino, on one of Japan’s southern islands. After opening their first store in 2000, news of their supreme noodles spread to the rest of the island, then the entire country, and these days Ramen Danbo is an international sensation. At their Pimpama store, they’re breaking the internet once again with Australia’s first drive thru ramen, where you can now grab a bowl of tonkotsu on the run.

Peter Augustus
Craft butcher Peter Augutus is one of those butchers where you know you’re always going to get a good quality product. Family-owned by Australian beef and cattle company Stanbroke, the name pays tribute to the late patriarch Peter Menegazzo, and one of Stanbroke’s vast cattle stations in northern Australia, Augustus Downs Station. The combination of the two tells of both the company’s legacy and their cattle’s prime grazing country, ensuring you’ll only end up with the best cuts of meat on your plate.

Established in 2019, July is one of the hottest names in all things travel and lifestyle right now, with the luggage connoisseurs capturing the hearts of globe-trotters and voyagers all around the world. Their impeccably made products will take you the distance with the perfect integration of luxury and class, minus the hefty price tag. They have made plenty of headway in the industry, opening their first store five years ago in their hometown Melbourne, and this year being named official partners of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Now, they’re finally coming to Brisbane, with James Street the home to the eloquently designed flagship store.
Mexicali
A second venue for the Gold Coast institution, Mexicali has come to Brisbane, taking over an open air rooftop space in Bulimba and filling it with stunning bespoke furnishings that will whisk you away to the coast of Mexico. Whether you opt for a giant booth or perch up at the bar tables overlooking Oxford Street below, prepare for a feast of tacos, snacks and of course, endless margaritas.
Emily Yeoh
Emily Yeoh is the first restaurant for Masterchef 2014 contestant Emily Yeoh, after spending the six years refining her trade at the highly acclaimed Attica in Melbourne, as well as our own GOMA and Blackbird. In her transition from biomedical engineer to culinary queen and Masterchef alumni, Emily was inspired to create a menu her grandmother would be proud of, with her Paddington venue paying homage to her Cantonese and Malaysian heritage.
Elementi
A little gem in the city fringe, Elementi is an homage to traditional Italian cuisine—and with an ex-Julius sous chef and an ex-Beccofino pizza chef in the kitchen, you know it’s going to be good. The relaxed, pared back interiors are the perfect match for the simplicity and culinary traditions shining through on their menu, which you can pair with something from a lengthy list of intriguing wines.
EMF Performance & Recovery Centre
With locations across Queensland and NSW, EMF has been making waves in the health and fitness world thanks to their mega wellness hubs, which combine everything from gym equipment and group classes to contrast therapy, meditation rooms and co-working spaces. While south and northsiders have been able to experience their performance centres for a while now at Springfield, North Lakes, Browns Plains and Mango Hill, city workers can also now achieve peak wellness with a brand new mega fitness centre arriving in the CBD.
Lang’s Lounge
The busy Brunswick Street strip just past the Fortitude Valley mall has seen a few boozy new additions to its lineup in recent months, one of them being Lang’s Lounge, a boutique spot for cocktails with a difference. The Green
A stunning, greenery adorned eatery just off James Street, The Green is part plant store, part cafe and restaurant. But while the plants and rich pink interiors may steal your focus upon entry, the Middle Eastern menu is what will hold it, whether you visit for breakfast, lunch or their new weekend dinners.
