So you’ve got a fancy dinner, picnic, or special event in the works and a trip to Coles or Woolies simply isn’t going to cut it?
Let us help you out with a round up of the best gourmet delis on the Gold Coast.
Manolas Brothers Delicatessen
Isle of Capri’s Manolas Brothers Delicatessen is the sort of deli everyone hopes to have in their neighbourhood. And if you’re anything like us, wandering the aisles drooling and contemplating over every last product is half the fun. There are too many special treats to list here, but these guys are particularly proud of their fromage, characuterie, and antipasto selections, along with super-charged smoothies and gourmet produce hampers (give as a gift or pick up for an extra spesh picnic). Don’t have the time, energy, or skills to impress guests at your next event? Manolas Brothers offer a stellar catering service to boot.
Where: 15—21 Via Roma, Isle of Capri
Golosi Food Emporium
“Golosi” (which translates to greedy or glutton in Italian), is a compact but gorgeous gourmet food emporium on Burleigh’s James Street. Golosi is the ideal pit-stop when searching for epicurean delights to take your picnic or dinner party to the next level. Uncover curiosities like truffle products, champagne strawberries, artesian pastries, Belgian chocolates, and authentic Mexican ingredients. And you’ll be the talk of Sunday afternoon on Burleigh Hill when you rock up with decadent dips, drool-worthy cheeses, spreadable preserves, olives, cured meats, lavosh crackers, and crispy baguettes.
Where: 3/45 James Street, Burleigh Heads
Ambarella Fine Foods
Ambrella Fine Foods is part deli part café, and all about the culmination of good food and great produce—both available simultaneously. Eat a delicious breakfast or lunch in the bistro, then pick up the ingredients to re-create it at home. Did we mention they have sushi, gelato, and fudge bars? Squeal! Owners Graham and Anne Beech are fourth generation farmers, so they know their stuff and are all about supporting local producers. And that, in our books, is just about everything.

Home chefs will be in gourmet ingredient heaven or, if you’re hungry, before checking out pull up a stool for coffee, vino, craft beer, pastas, charcuterie platters, and authentic wood-fired pizza. Nom nom nom.
