Life’s pretty good on the Gold Coast. We enjoy warm weather, clean beaches, delicious restaurants and some heavenly cocktail bars. But trust us, life is about to get a whole lot sweeter, thanks to the region’s newest foodie event, The Tweed Artisan Food Weekend.
Our favourite neighbours are planning an unforgettable weekend of curated events, celebrating the fertile farming region that supplies so many of our markets and eateries.
You’ll absolutely want to nab a ticket to events including Asian, seafood and bush tucker cooking classes at Temple Door Cooking School in Terranora or dine with Harriet from Husk Distillers, Jonas of Fair Game Wild Venison and chef Ryan at Potager: A Kitchen Garden’s Meet the Locals lunch. With something for everyone, Stone & Wood’s Murwillumbah brewery will be opening the doors for tours and tasting, Blue Ginger Picnics will be popping-up at the Finger Lime Farm with a totally photogenic picnic featuring local produce and drinks. Or choose to experience the seasonal cane harvest that’s underway via a sugar mill tour at Stamp & Grind Sugar Mill, plus more.
To truly plunge headfirst into the Tweed Coast, make a weekend out of it with special rates on offer at luxury Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat, set deep in the lush forest, or head beachside to Peppers Salt Resort & Spa or Mantra on Salt Beach. Just don’t be surprised if you walk away making plans for a move south across the border.
