Life’s pretty good on the Gold Coast. We enjoy warm weather, clean beaches, delicious restaurants and some heavenly cocktail bars. But trust us, life is about to get a whole lot sweeter, thanks to one of the region’s latest foodie events, The Tweed Artisan Food Weekend.
Our favourite neighbours are planning an unforgettable autumn weekend of curated events, celebrating the fertile farming region that supplies so many of our markets and eateries.
You’ll absolutely want to nab a ticket to events including Potager’s four-course meal, a tour and tasting at Stone & Wood’s Murwillumbah brewery or the “Death by Avocado” garden picnic soiree that will be popping up at Tropical Fruit World.
For those chasing a multi-sensory foodie experience, take the bush tucker walk, ending with a long lunch at Fingal institution, Sheok Shack. Or, jump on a river cruise that begins at the much-loved Cubby Bakehouse for a freshly laden baguette, and ends with a rum tasting and live music lawn session at Husk Distillery.
From bakers to makers and creators, this three-day event is the perfect way to rediscover the thriving food bowl that is The Tweed. Just don’t be surprised if you walk away making plans for a move south across the border.
