Well, hello November. Fancy seeing you here!

We were just getting it on with October and then you show up. Thankfully, you’re bringing a few kickass events our way, so we’re happy to let it slide. This time.

If you’re on the hunt for things to do on the Gold Coast this November, add these babies to your calendar.

Ben & Jerry’s OpenAir Cinema | Now ‘til Sunday, November 6

Hands up who’s made it to Broadbeach for Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinema? This is the last weekend to pull your finger out and take advantage of one of the best things to do on the Gold Coast this spring. Flicks still on the agenda include Girl on the Train, Storks, and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. But hurry, it all wraps up Sunday.

The Kitchens Grand Opening | Thursday, November 3

Listen up folks, we think many of you haven’t quite yet grasped the magnitude of what’s unfolding at Robina Town Centre. This month, the Gold Coast’s dining landscape will be joined by 30+ permanent foodie purveyors plus a bevvie of temporary pop-ups also joining the party (there’s 55 all up!). Dropping Thursday, November 3, and including the likes of Jimmy Grants, Betty’s Burgers, Fish Lab, Honey Eater Kitchen, and Mr Pigs Bakehouse, The Kitchens has to be seen to be believed. Bring an empty stomach and mandatory stretchy pants.

Hotelling | Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5

We are as intrigued as the next person when talk turns to Gold Coast’s newest live art performance event, Hotelling. A creative collaboration between Bleached Arts and QT Gold Coast, you’re invited to disappear down the rabbit hole and be entertained by a myriad of unexpected adult-only performances, with art, music, dancers, and theatrics set to hijack every last cranny of your fave hotel. Tickets start at just $30 and are on sale now via the website. We’ll see you there!

Gold Coast Open House | Saturday, November 5

Ever wondered what goes down inside the local radio or TV stations, old Town Hall, or some of the Coast’s most glam residential properties? Open House will see some of the Coast’s largely out-of-reach venues swing open their doors to the public for one day only. If we were you, we’d be bee-lining for a FREE guided tour of CBus or Metricon Stadiums, Currumbin’s Eco Village, Q1 Hotel, or for the creepy-inclined, a tour of the Southport Cemetery. Find a full roster of properties inviting locals inside listed on the website—bookings are required in most cases.

Mount Tamborine Street Party | Saturday, November 5

Another new event added to GC Design Collective Markets’ fast-growing itinerary is the Mount Tamborine Street Party. Hosted at the Tamborine Mountain Memorial Sports Centre between 3pm and 9pm, there’s a convoy of food trucks and stalls, clothing and craft markets, vintage rummage sales, and musos all headed for the hills, and we suggest you follow them!

BLA! (Brewing Local Artists) at Burleigh Brewing | Saturday, November 5

Burleigh Brewing Co. is brewing a different kind of magic this month, with the introduction of BLA! (Brewing Local Artists). Teaming up with all manner of local creatives and artists, Saturday’s free-to-attend launch event (5pm to 8pm) will involve a pop-up gallery with live art displays, sculptures, photography, and illustrations. Now you can get cultural with a locally-crafted brew in hand, don’t mind if we do!

The Social Markets | Saturday, November 5 and Saturday, November 19

Gold Coast’s newest night markets were such a resounding success that the team behind long-standing Isle of Capri markets have decided to fold their weekend markets into this new location and time slot. Now regularly rotating on the first and third Saturday of the month (4pm to 9pm), take your posse to Mermaid Beach Bowls Club for market stalls galore, pop-up bars and food vendors, live tunes, barefoot bowls under lights, and a cheery crowd. Fun!

Apologies in advance as this is a total tease for those who missed out. After a knock-out performance with “Winter Wasabi Wonderland” in August, the Etsu crew have backed it up selling out not two, but three night’s worth of seats in literally hours. Again, lucky ticket holders to Feast Under A Tipi will be treated to a five-course feast with matching wines and sake, and entertained by fab duo, The James Street Preachers. All in a secret location and under glittering lights and the canopy of a tipi, of course! For those who nabbed tickets, we’ll see you there! For those that missed out again, stay tuned for an announcement of the third installment.

Mullum Music Festival | Thursday, November 17 to Sunday, November 20

Sure this event involves a jaunt across the border, but once you take a peek at the stellar line up of music events and festivities, you’ll have the car packed and loaded pronto. Now in its ninth year, Mullum Music Festival, held at tiny Mullumbimby in the Byron Shire Hinterland, has a toe-tapping rota of musical artists, street parades, theatrical performances, workshops, foodie offerings, and oh-so much more. Tickets are on sale now via the website.

Red Bull Water Maze | Saturday, November 19

Adrenalin-fuelled gods Red Bull are heading for Runaway Bay for a fast-paced (though rather safe) event drawing a dedicated crowd from the SUP community. Trying not to get lost in the maze of canals and waterways, Red Bull Water Maze is an event that’s part skill, endurance, and orientation mastery. Local SUPers, y’all invited!

THE 4217 MARKETS | Saturday, November 19

We hear it was a sweet line up of local creatives, food purveyors, workshops, and activities at The 4217’s inaugural monthly markets. Now all they need is you! Returning in November will be over 25 pop-up stalls joining permanent faves such as Paradox Coffee Roasters, Salt Meats Cheese, and CHA Tea.

Her Wardrobe | Sunday, November 27

We bloody adore a good pre-loved clothing market; why buy one new item for $100 when you can get 10 for the same price? Her Wardrobe has been doing the rounds of South East Queensland, and is set return to the vintage-lovin’ Gold Coast and Robina Community Centre this month. So, how does it work? Pay a $2 entry fee, and you’ll gain access to over 70 stalls of second-hand clothing from local girls. That’s something like 10,000 potential new-to-you outfits all piled into one space—a thrifter’s paradise. Bring your game face and get in early for the best treasures; doors open 8am sharp.

Date Night at BSKT | Friday and Saturday nights

Peeps… Scoop up your bestie or lover and book them in for Date Night at Nobby institution BSKT! Last weekend, Metropolist was treated to an epic foodie spread in honour of BSKT’s impressive new dinner menu and we can say, hand on heart, you’re in for a treat. Nailed by GC’s fave wholefoods ambassadors, the new (100 per cent gluten-free) dinner menu is littered with goodness like grilled whole Rainbow Trout, coconut amino-marinated aged rump steak, ample options for vegos and vegans, #allthesides, and drool-worthy desserts, washed down with speciality organic wines. Plus, BSKT under moody light? Prepare to fall in love all over again.

Creative Workshops at Warehouse No. 5 | Various Dates

Our fave co-working and creative event space in Burleigh has another month loaded with networking events plus personal and professional development workshops. There’s too many to list here, but we’ve got our eyes on workshops teaching the basics of graphic design for business, how to kill it with collaboration, and home styling. Spinning your wheels? Book yourself into a Warehouse No. 5 workshop and get inspired.

Still in search of more things to do on the Gold Coast? Don’t come up for air until you’ve eaten your way through the Coast’s 30 best cafes.
