Yes, this is the real life, no this is not fantasy, a giant carnival-inspired kid's playground and a Pimm's Garden Party will feature at this year’s Caulfield Family Day Races on Saturday February 11 and it’s the perfect escape from reality.
For all those mums and dads out there who’ve had it up to ~here~ with
people working the Bohemian Rhapsody into article intros making macaroni necklaces and reviving malnourished Tamagotchis, we have the perfect weekend event for you and your lil’ fam.
On Saturday February 11, Caulfield Racecourse will play host to a day of sport, fun and entertainment for the whole family, which will kick off the Summer Racing season and also mark the return of Group 1 racing to Victoria in 2017.
For the littlies, the place to be will be Clyde’s Town—a huge, dedicated, carnival-inspired zone for the kids featuring a Ferris wheel, rides, jumping castles, face painting and heaps more (to keep them distracted while you scoff a chop and sip a froth).
But the crème de la crème of the event for parents will surely be the Pimm's Garden Party where they can kick back with a cocktail, take in some live tunes, enjoy a spot of croquet and forget that they have to have the kids in bed by seven.
The Caulfield Family Race Day is Caulfield’s biggest kids-orientated event on the calendar and is a great day to spend outdoors with the whole family, but also a great excuse to catch some Group 1 racing without forking out the dosh for a babysitter.
See for yourself why summer racing is more than just racing. Tickets available at the Melbourne Racing Club website.
