In March, Caulfield Racecourse is transforming into a Gourmet Cinema! Melbourne foodies and movie lovers rejoice as two of our most-loved cultural passions band together harmoniously.

From the 2-6 March, the well-known racecourse will bring a jumbo screen and five of Melbourne’s best restaurants together for a movie screening paired with a scrumptious bite. Each night a restaurant is chosen as the ‘hero curator’, designing a menu that matches that evening’s screening.

The European has been paired, like a fine wine, with our favourite Woody Allen flick, Midnight In Paris—Chef Ian Curley says he’s chosen ‘classic dishes’ to match the Frenchy flick. Meanwhile, Baby Pizza are shacking up with The Great Beauty, Mamasita are presenting food truck comedy Chef, Le Bon Ton is bringing The Dude to town with The Big Lebowski, and Epocha are presenting The Grand Budapest Hotel.

There’ll be around two to three dishes at each restaurant, which are purchased separately to the entry ticket cost, and you’ll be seated on the lawn comfortably come viewing time with rugs and a selected number of deck chairs and/or beach chairs available for hire. Guests are encouraged to bring their own if that’s the way you want to roll.

This is an all-age/family-friendly event and booking tickets is an absolute must, because we think this sensory journey of food and film is going to be spectacular.
