If bacon is your idea of a good time, you can probably stop reading now...
…sweet, sweet bacon, meaty and sizzling and crispy round the edg—sorry, what were we talking about? Oh yeah. Melbourne is about to play host to the Big Vegan Market: a massive vegan orgy with 150+ vegan food vendors. And it’s on next weekend, for one day only.
Created by Anne Brunsdon and Tim Slingsby of Melbourne Vegan Eats (the guys behind Brew + Food Fest last year), it’s the first vegan market ever to be hosted in Carlton’s Royal Exhibition Building. And you know you’ve hit the Big Time when you score the REB.
They've roped in a stellar line-up of vegan food brands this year too, including Pana Chocolate, Pressed Juices, Pierogi Pierogi, Mr & Mrs Banks and The Vegan Box, to name a very few (150+ partners, remember?) Who knew there was so much vegan food in Melbourne? Not I, Steven Fry. Entry to the market is a measly $2 bucks (under 12s get in free, the lucky scamps) and the clean-living action kicks off from 10am.
“The reaction has been phenomenal”, Brunsdon says. “The building is absolutely stunning and it’s going to show off all of the vendors' products perfectly.”
Where: Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton
When: Saturday 13 May, 10am—6pm.
