Ladies and gentlemen, let's get ready to rumble…Lamaro'sBattle of the Chefsis here!
Billed as the ultimate kitchen battle, the Battle of the Chefs at South Melbourne's Lamaro's Dining Room will pit the Head Chef against the Sous Chef, in a series of 'cook-offs' to take place each Tuesday night over seven weeks.
The South Melbourne gastropub is home to a Modern Australian menu full of hearty family faves such as seafood linguini, John Dory risotto, and super juicy steaks from the King Valley and Hopkins River. It's their veal schnitzel that will forever have a spot in our heart though…crumbed with lemon and parmesan and served with hot mustard slaw and sauce diable (yuuuummm), we think it's easily one of the best parmas in Melbourne!
Back to the Battle of the Chefs though...here's how the kitchen rumble will go down…
Starting tonight and running through until 30th September, the Head Chef and Sous Chef will be turning it on, using their considerable kitchen prowess to create a series of two-course meals that'll hopefully win them the crown.
Using the scoring card they're given upon arrival, diners will specify at the end of the meal the dishes they loved the most, and ultimately who they think should be crowned the winner of Lamaro's Battle of the Chefs.
At the end of the seven weeks, the votes will be tallied and the winner declared – we won't lie, there's going to be some serious bragging rights up for grabs! Diners will also get the chance to win, with everyone who attended the Battle of the Chefs put in the draw to win a $200 Lamaro's voucher, also drawn at the end.
So who will wear the Battle of the Chefs crown? Will it be the experienced Head Chef, full of knowledge about what makes the Lamaro's customer tick? Or will it be the Sous Chef, who's brimming with fresh, tasty and tantalising ideas?
That's the best part…YOU decide.
