Pup fans, you might want to sit down. We have some big news. The Royal Exhibition Building is about to host the annual Dog Lovers Show: a non-stop pooch-fest running all weekend.
Going by last year’s turnout, every man and his dog will be there. And no wonder—the event line-up is pretty ridic. We’re talking dog show spectaculars in the Royal Canin Arena, Dr Harry Cooper up on stage (when you have this many animals in one place he just manifests), a Pedigree Rescue Dog booth to teach you all about pet adoption, even an Insta-Pooch Red Carpet where you can meet the canine stars of Instagram (just watch out for the pup-arazzi…sorry).
We’ll be hanging out at the Pat-a-Pooch Zone (pretty self-explanatory) and DockDogs: an outdoor competition where we see which dog breed is the best by making them launch themselves into a huge pool of water. It’s a bit like the Moomba Birdman contest, except these dogs didn’t spend the last three months sitting around in their underwear making papier-mâché wings. There’s also doggy face-painting for the kids, food trucks galore and a hot dog stand (because obviously).
Yep, if it sniffs, scratches, licks, barks and wags, it’s gonna be at the Royal Exhibition Building this weekend. There’ll be a lot of dogs there too…
