PSA: There’s A Ribs Festival On This Weekend

If you’re a fan of meaty, juicy, saucy ribs, the kind that coats your fingers, face and nearby friends in lip-smacking deliciousness, then prepare your finest bib: RIBFEST is coming.

Lygon Street fave The B.East is launching a ribs and rock n’ roll festival this Saturday, with matched beers from Barrow Boys Brewery and Jack Daniels whisky cocktails to boot. You can order your ribs by the whole or half pound (!!) and there are a bunch of flavours to choose from. Think 48 hour beef short ribs with Memphis BBQ rib dust, chargrilled maple and thyme lamb ribs, dry-rubbed pork ribs with pineapple and dark rum glaze, and southern fried buttermilk chicken ribs with a shallot ranch dressing.

Each rib style comes with its own matched beer and whisky cocktail. Maybe a stormy lager for the beef ribs, or a Woodford rye negroni for the lamb. We’ve got our beady little cocktail eye on the Jack Daniel’s Firetail: nostril-blasting Jack Daniels Fire with cinnamon and lime. This all sounds delicious, but since there are literally POUNDS of sticky ribs involved, things are gonna get messy. Tinder dates may want to BYO wet wipes.

The good news doesn’t stop at the food either. The B.East will be hosting heavy-rocking, blues-infused Devil Electric and the fuzzed-out three piece band, Sleeper Service. The DJs start from 7pm and the live music kicks off at 10pm. Needless the say the beer, and the ribs, will be flowing all day long.
