15th Nov 2019

There’s nothing like an adventure to help you reconnect with nature, your friends and yourself. And because Melbourne is (unofficially) the most liveable city in the world, there’s countless ways for you to get your adventure on in and around the city.

Whether it's a two-day hike, a road trip or navigating your way through a gorge, what are you waiting for? Choose your own adventure. Check out our guide for all of the best adventures you need to tick off this summer.

A Trip To Gumbaya World

While there’s plenty to do at Gumbaya World on any given day, their Sounds Of Nature event, a unique Aussie music experience is one of the best reasons there is to make the trek. Surrounded by nature and thrilling rides, you can expect an awesome line-up of home-grown acts set to take the stage including Daryl Braithwaite, Vanessa Amorosi and more.

When: Saturday 30 November

Beginner Walks Around Melbourne

Hiking is the one workout where eating chocolate out of the bag isn’t only accepted, it’s practically encouraged. And that’s whether you’re athlete level or you’re only just starting out. If you’d classify yourself as more of a beginner, you’re in luck, ‘cause we’ve rounded up the best beginner walks to get you into the swing of things.

Beyond The Valley

There’s so much to love about ringing in the New Year at a music festival in and around the bush with nothing but your mates, a camping tent and some quality music. And lucky for us Melburnians, Beyond The Valley is as good as they come. Their line-up for this year is arguably their best yet, featuring headlining acts including Rufus Du Sol and Tyler The Creator. Tickets are currently sold out but are available to purchase through the official resell platform, Tixel.

When: Tuesday 28 December to Wednesday 1 January
Where: 155 Burnt Store Road, Lardner 3821

Hike Through Werribee Gorge

Be prepared for anything but your average nature walk. Werribee Gorge is one of Melbourne’s most rugged natural beauties, with the hike following the length of the gorge through a disused water channel built around the year 1926, through escarpments and along the river bed itself.

When: Sunday 29 December
Where: 728 Heidelberg Road, Alphington 3078

Tree Surfing At Enchanted Adventure Garden

The Enchanted Adventure Garden is an award-winning outdoor nature park on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. And one of their most exciting activities you should consider is their tree-top climbing tour. It has over 50 aerial obstacles per course, bridges and five zip-lines linked to tree-based platforms at 10 metres high. We won’t blame you for feeling relaxed but nervous at the same time.

Get Your Glamp On

Camping is definitely not for everyone, but that doesn't mean glamping isn't. You can still claim you went camping, just with most of the comforts of your own bedroom and without the humiliation of not knowing how to actually construct a tent. Sounds pretty dreamy, doesn't it?

Mt Cobbler High And Camp

If high country hiking is your thing, you’re going to want to sign up to Take Shape Adventures.
