It's no secret that Melburnians love a good food festival – I mean, what's better than being surrounded by the best food and wine producers that Victoria has to offer, devouring delicious treats as you go? (Answer: not much!)

Officially kicking off yesterday, Tastes of Central Geelong is the latest food festival to get us excited – not to mention salivating – with over 180 fabulous foodie activities planned.

Running 'til the 27th of July, there's plenty to see, do, and of course, EAT at Tastes of Central Geelong. Take your pick from dinners at the region's top restaurants, lip-smacking street eats from a host of food trucks, cooking classes, competitions, and more, all located an easy one-hour drive from Melbourne's CBD.

Children get to take part in all the foodie fun too, with plenty of family-friendly activities on offer at Tastes. Something to keep them fed and entertained?! Can't say no to that!

If you're not sure where to start, never fear! We've put together the ultimate guide to Tastes of Central Geelong – the top sipping and sampling activities that you can't miss!

Ohhh dessert, how we love you so! It seems Central Geelong share our passion for all things sweet and as part of the Tastes festival, they're holding Dessert Wars – a battle between the region's top restaurants and cafes over who has the best dessert. Entrants have nominated their signature dessert dish and now it's up to YOU, the dessert loving public, to decide who will be crowned the 2014 Central Geelong Dessert Wars Champion. We think it's vital to do some serious taste testing before voting, so get to it!
