What a scorcher of a week! We hope you didn’t melt. Props if you tried to make fried eggs on the pavement because it totally would have worked.

A lot went down this week, Melbournians, and we’re piling it all into one glorious post, because we want you to be in the know. Wipe that sweat off your face—here’s all the news you missed this week.

  • Christy Tania's dessert emporium Glace just launched a brand new brekky menu, The Sweet Breakfast. Croissant burgers, French Toast soldiers with ice-cream and the greatest banana bread of all time. Get it in you ASAP.

  • CHEAP BEER! The Waterside Hotel announced they're offering half-price tinnies every Thursday night. You can find this deal in the Dog House. Grab a hot dawg to go with it.

  • Mark your calendars, people! Australia’s largest FREE music festival, St Kilda Fest, is coming back on 11 February. The line-up is due to drop in early January...

  • New Shanghai just made the cutest bao buns everrrr. So cute that we don’t even want to eat them...nahh who are we kidding. Snowmen and gingerbread bao are available till 14 January.

  • A huge luxurioussss dining and retail hall just opened at the International Terminal in Melbourne Airport. We sure could use a bottle of champagne before an 8-hour flight…

  • FREE DOUGHNUTS? Yep, it's happening. To celebrate hitting 250 active restaurants, EatClub are teaming up with Bistro Morgan to give away pina colada and espresso martini doughnuts. Check Eatclub's Insta bio for all the deets.

  • Gondwana wines just dropped a brand new label-collab. The bottle has become a canvas for some pretty speccy Indigenous art, and it's a quality drop to boot.

  • Treat yo’self this summer with strawberry shortcake soft serve at the Garden State Hotel. They’ll be rotating flavours in the beer garden now until the end of February. YUM.

  • Spending Chrissy in NYC? Say hi to fellow Australians, The 5th—they just announced their first pop-up shop in Nolita.

  • PSA: We found the perfect gin for summer. And it’s PINK. You’re welcome.

  • It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Bar Americano. They just launched their new Christmas cocktail menu, and it includes old-fashioned, Swedish Glog. Careful, it’s hot!

  • We love a good cocktail deal and our friends at the Prahran Hotel are pouring $10 Aperol Spritz now until the end of summer. Perfect way to beat the heat.

  • If you survive Christmas shopping, bring your presents to Hotel Windsor on the 15 and 22 December to get them wrapped by the pros while enjoying high tea. That definitely takes a load off. Pinkies up!

  • Stop taking that can of beer for granted. Welcome to Thornbury is hosting a Tinnie Appreciation Day on 16 December. There'll be plenty of beer and plenty of tinnie-filled games. We’re into it.

  • ICYMI: Bentwood is serving Golden Gaytime pannacotta and we are not worthy.

  • There’s a new speakeasy in town. Head to Skipping Girl and tell a staff member to take you to the bar. You’re on your own from there.

  • We know you like food trucks so check out Fitzroy’s Grub Food Van this summer. Chef Daniel Wilson just announced he's taking over the menu, and we have our eyes on the coconut chicken salad.

  • Mr. Miyagi just got a little more exclusive. It added a private dining room so you and your crew can nom on Miyagi fried chicken all night long.

  • FYI: A pop-up Mexican fiesta is happening on the Yara and you can have a chance to win a trip for two to Mexico. Vamos!

  • Huxtaburger launched an exclusive weekend breakfast menu. You can only get it on UberEATS, and it's looking scrumptious. Bacon, egg, hash brown, avocado, lettuce, tomato, aioli and tomato sauce? Hells yeah.

Let’s get the ball rollin’ this weekend. Here’re 17 things to do.
