Sip on Weis Sorbet Cocktails
You’re going to need to drop that non-descript cocktail you have you in your hand, babe. We have been introduced to the Weis Sorbet Cocktail and we’re not going back. Five of our favourite cocktail bars have paired up with Weis Sorbet Exotics to create the most refreshing, thirst quenching, sorbet-laden cocktails we’ve been dreaming of. These super kewl establishments are State of Grace, Mr Mason, the Wharf Hotel, Terra Rossa and World Bar & Restaurant - but there’s only one catch… these ripper cocktails are only around til 15 February, so use your weekend wisely.
Cinema at the ‘G’
You won’t see a footy flying or cricket ball soaring this Friday or Saturday at the MCG. In fact, the hallowed turf of the ‘G’ has been transformed into an open-air cinema, and it’s spectacular. On the night, Gate 3 will open at 6.30pm so you can reserve your spot on the turf as you grab a bite. The movie will start at 8.30pm; so don’t forget your blankey and pillow in case you get a little chilly. Buy Tickets for a Global Feast at Saba’s Ethiopian Restaurant
As part of FoodSocial’s Global Feast, Saba’s Ethiopian Restaurant in Fitzroy will host an Ethiopian dinner for a lucky bunch of peeps. It runs from 6pm – 8.30pm on Saturday 5 March and it includes a welcome drink, five shared traditional main dishes, shared platter of dessert, coffee making ceremony and a dance demonstration. Pisco & Ceviche Masterclass at Lady Carolina
What do you get when you combine Lady Carolina chefs with International Pisco pin-up boy, Otis Florence? The best night ever, that’s what. Take part in the Pisco & Ceviche Masterclass this Thursday from 7pm – 9.30pm. For $120 per person, you’ll be treated to a 5-course ceviche and pisco class (incl. tasting) that will have you drooling all night long. Doris Day Party In The Swamp at Bar Ampere
If you’re not looking properly you’ll miss this one, guys. The Swamp Bar is totally 100% hidden and is decked out with trees and vines hanging from the ceiling - not to mention what those sparkly fairy lights do to the forest-like wonderland within. Located at 16 Russell Place in the CBD, you can enter through the back for free entry – which we all love. Meet Cute At The Melba Spiegeltent
Tarot readings, origami lessons, Jenga, food trucks... This Thursday, get to the Melba Spiegeltent for feminist girl gang Cherchez La Femme's summer party, Meet Cute. This action-packed mixer is a fantastic opportunity to meet some like-minded folks in Melbourne, as well as kick back with a drink on a summer's evening. The Food Truck Park | Preston
This Friday, Preston brings you a night of soul, hip-hop, craft beer and food truck delicacies to boot. The fabulous Food Truck Park officially launches from 5pm – 10.30pm on Friday night, and it’s going to knock your socks off… or maybe just roll them off slowly. Following up on a killer series of Food Truck pop-ups, Preston’s special night is sure to keep your tummies full and bums jiggling. Green In The Lane at Madame Brussels
Madame Brussels Lane is in #transformation mode this February. As part of the larger Sustainable Living Festival event being held throughout the Melbourne CBD, Madame Brussels will turn their iconic lane into a green sustainability paradise suitably titled, Green In The Lane. It will feature a green mini product market, live music, sustainability workshops and free pot planting sessions, and it all kicks off this Friday from 11am – 2pm. Note: It will also run on the 19 & 26 February. Go forth and be sustainable!
Sisters’ Valentine Market at Brunswick Town Hall
This is ideal for those last-minute authentic Valentine’s gifts that you’ve forgotten to get for the last few weeks, because you’ve been too busy re-watching Making A Murderer on Netflix. Yeah, we see you. Well thanks to Sisters’ Valentine Market you can find over 50 market stalls with goodies all packed into Brunswick Town Hall this Saturday. The Caribbean Gardens & Market’s 50th Birthday
The Caribbean Gardens and Market is turning 50. That’s a big deal. To celebrate their significant milestone there will be a magnificent water film that will transform Lake Caribbean into a stunning visual display with phenomenal, vivid and holographic visual effects. The much-loved market space will be transformed with popular food trucks, stalls filled with home treasures and goodies, music and live entertainment from 4pm – 11pm. Tickets are $2.50 on the night.
