Do not fret, because we understand this and have a whole lot of suggestions to fill your calendar. Feel the burn at a free Xtend Barre class, stand up for feminism at the Sisters of Crime debate, roll out your picnic rug at the inaugural Peninsula Picnic or get your craft on at the Maribyrnong Makers Market.

International Street Food Revolution at Catani Gardens

It’s safe to say that Melburnians enjoy a good Street Food Festival and the ISFF at St Kilda’s scenic Catani Gardens will be no exception. Enjoy some of the best street food flavours from all over the globe, while listening to multicultural beats and watching live entertainment. Your senses will love ya, we promise. Cake Expo at Melbourne Showgrounds

Yes, we know Easter is only a week away, but why not treat yo’self to some guilty indulgences early at the annual Cake Expo? And it’s not only eating an almost endless variety of sweet treats on the agenda because baking demonstrations and cake decorating classes will also be on offer for those keen to learn. Good Beer Week Gala | Fitzroy

Beer fanatics get ready, because this weekend, to celebrate the Launch of the 2016 Official Good Weekend, a Gala Showcase is set to be hosted at Fitzroy Town Hall on Napier Street. 24 brewers from across the nation, including the likes of White Rabbit, Feral Brewery and Bridge Road Brewery, will boast their newest brews and most delicious old favourites. Choose from one of the three sessions (or, heck, go to them all): Friday evening 5pm-9pm, and Saturday 12pm-4pm and 5pm-9pm. Tickets can be purchased here for $45 +bf or get them at the door for $50….if there are any still left. Your ticket will get you a tasting booklet, two 60ml beer samples and a food voucher to be redeemed at any of the food trucks present.

Section 8’s 10th Birthday Gala Ball | Melbourne CBD

On a normal day, Section 8 displays anything but a swanky vibe. For one evening only, this will all change, as they mark the celebration of their 10th birthday with an exclusive formal event of spectacular proportions. The grungy venue we know and love will undergo a decorative transformation in collaboration with creative studio, John Fish. This is Section 8’s first ever ticketed event and with a very limited number available, we strongly recommend booking here…now. The Food Truck Park Preston’s Jerkalicious Block party

The Food Truck Park are making a  pit stop in Preston this Sunday, bringing downtown Kingston, jerk chicken and holiday island vibes with them. As well as Melbourne’s beloved food trucks, reggae DJs, Caribbean pop-up vendors and craft beer and cider on tap will be on offer. Food Social's South East Asian Cook Off

If you like a bit of competition and you’re into top-notch South East Asian food, then you won’t want to miss Food Social’s intimate event at the NEFF Market Kitchen (South Melbourne Market. Kam McManamey, the Head Chef at Bothermabo, will be walking guest through the process to make Botherambo’s signature crying tiger beef dish. Maribyrnong Makers Market | Seddon Uniting Church

Seddon will again transform into the craft capital of the West as more than 40 stallholders gather to showcase their handmade goodies at this year’s first Makers Market. Darebin Community and Kite Festival | Reservoir

Get involved in a day of fun and free activities, including live performances, workshops, community and food stalls, a pet expo, and of course, kite flying, as the The Darebin Community and Kite Festival returns to Reservoir’s picturesque Edwardes Lake this Sunday from 11am until 6pm. The Peninsula Picnic at Mornington Racecourse

The Peninsula Picnic is back in 2016 with an even bigger line-up of musicians, winemakers and distillers and gourmet restaurants.
