Mother's Day is just around the corner (11th of May, mark it down!), and this is the year to step it up a notch. Vue De Monde's outermost post, Café Vue at Heide, offers a stunningly beautiful backdrop to soak up while you feast on a sumptuous Mother's Day breakfast. Stroll through the grounds, take a wander through the kitchen gardens and spend the rest of your day admiring one of Melbourne's finest contemporary art collections. Bliss!

Occupying the space where The Press Club once stood, George Calombaris' Gazi serves authentic Greek street food that will make your mitera swoon. Their Mother's Day breakfast features a delicious two-course meal plus a glass of bubbly for the leading lady.  

Can't catch your mum 'til later? Gazi are also offering a seven-dish sharing menu created by Calombaris and Head Chefs Luke Croston and Guillaume Montes. A feast not to be missed!

Okay, we all know mums just can't get enough of George Calombaris (let's be honest, we ALL can't get enough of Georgie Porgie), so it's little wonder Hellenic Republic, both Brunswick and Kew, also made it to the list! They'll be serving a two-course breakfast menu featuring Greek delights, such as the Kapnistos Solomos (ouzo cured smoked salmon with sheep's milk yoghurt, tsoureki croutons and capers…drool!) followed by sweets to share. The menu is priced at $35 (including a glass of sparkling for your mum!). 

Those who snooze through the breakfast sitting (Mother's Day equals gloriously long sleep-ins, after all) can still enjoy a bit of George's Greek fare at his Mother's Day four-course lunch.

Melbourne's favourite tapas joint will be hosting a four-course feast this Mother's Day. The lunch will start with a glass of cava and anchoas, the MoVida signature anchovy and smoked tomato sorbet tapas, followed by a range of Spanish delights, including a Calamari sandwich with guindilla peppers, roast suckling pig with a beetroot salad and, of course, their deeeelicious churros with rich drinking chocolate.

Get excited, because Pei Modern have teamed up with Mumm to bring you an amazing Mother's Day lunch. The Mother's Day three-course menu begins with canapés and sparkling on arrival, followed by an entrée of seared spatchcock with foie gras, dauphinoise, bread sauce and parsley, a main of roast salmon with crispy skin, fennel gratin and lemon, and a pecan tart with maple ice cream and salted caramel to finish. The latest eatery to take up residence in Curtin House, Mesa Verde, is hosting a taco lunch this Mother's Day. Make your own tacos with Mesa's seasonal produce and kick back to a line-up of DJs. Mum will receive a glass of bubbles on the house, and seeing as Mesa has one of the largest tequila selections in the country, she'll also be able to indulge in a few cheeky margaritas. It's a fun, family-friendly lunch that won't break the bank (under 12s cost just $15!).

Okay, while The Westin's Éclair Affair Afternoon Tea isn't technically a lunch, Mother's Day calls for indulgence, and there's nothing more indulgent than a meal consisting of choux pastry's raison d'être, the éclair. Executive Sous Chef Pamela Gould has devised a contemporary menu of sweet and savoury éclair options, including classic French combinations like ham, comte cheese, confit tomato and Dijon aioli, pistachio and fig, and the irresistible chocolate with caramel. Pair your éclairs with Domain Chandon, Vittoria coffee, hot chocolate or Jing tea and you've got the ultimate Mother's Day afternoon indulgence.

Not a fan of the set menu? Head to The Atlantic, where you can pick your three courses from the restaurant's á la carte menu. So, for $110, you have free reign. Fancy the Morten Bay Bug spaghettini? How about the wood-fired barramundi? The choices are endless! This two-hatted North Fitzroy restaurant is offering a delicious Japanese-inspired Mother's Day Menu, with dishes such as pan-seared quail with shitake duxelle, pickled mushrooms, Jerusalem artichoke and a Sichuan peppercorn sauce. Well, my friends, Melba's are kicking the buffet game up a notch this Mother's Day, covering all corners of the globe with everything from succulent rotisserie to fresh sushi and sashimi.
