The opening party will screen the Victorian premiere of The 100-Year-Old-Man Who Climbed Out The Window and Disappeared, followed by an after party with Cake Wines, Nordic Flavours and live tunes. Might we suggest you head to the Malthouse to catch Starry Night: The Last Hours of Vincent van Gogh, a one-man play about the life and death of the troubled artist, interspersed with images of his most famous works. This incredibly powerful, moving play is showing in Melbourne until Saturday – art-loving, theatrical folk, this isn't one you want to miss!

Calling Charlie's Angels! Lucy Liu Kitchen & Bar is the latest girl in town, opening where PM24 once stood. You can expect a multicultural dining space, tasty Asian share plates and killer cocktails (we're told the coconut mojito is one to look out for!). The good news? They take reservations, and you can even book a table NOW (and say goodbye to the grumbling tummy as you wait in line!).

Melbourne's swish new Italian eatery, Chiara, is hosting Guy Grossi for The Truffle Takeover, a decadent night of truffle-y feasting. In association with Truffle Melbourne, the celebrated Italian chef will join Chiara's George Fowler, Shaun Quade and Gavin Baker for an eight-course degustation with matched wines, in the ultimate celebration of the fanciest of fungi. We had a sneak peek at the menu and it looks ridiculously delicious, each course infused with truffle (yep, even the desserts!). Banana caramel, warm polenta bread and truffle ice cream, anyone?
It's the last couple of days of winter school holidays in Melbourne, and we can bet our bottom dollar you're most likely all craft-ed out. Treat your kiddies (oh okay, and maybe yourselves) to a non-gluey outing at Inside The Brick's Bayside Lego Fan Expo. Held at Kingston Town Hall in Moorabbin, the expo will feature the block-tastic creations of Australia's top Lego masters (yep, it's a title), including a huge city and train layout, epic spaceships and other unique creations. There'll also be a huge brick pile of mini master builders to work their magic on.

This weekend, Move: Creative Experience Metatronics will see you create something from the ground up, mixing skateboard parts with sculpture, hobby motors and 3D printed parts, and other wonderful things to create your masterpiece. Celebrate fabulous fungi at Truffle Melbourne, kicking off this Saturday at Caulfield Racecourse. Over two huge days, the racecourse will transform into a culinary haven showcasing the best Australian truffles and their artisan food partners, where you can meet truffle-savvy dogs, sample truffle-y fare and master truffle cooking techniques. A whopping $300,000 worth of truffles will be enjoyed over the course of the festival…that's a whole lotta fun-gi!

All truffled-out? Never! Head to East Melbourne's GG Restaurant for the Truffle Melbourne banquet. The dinner will see three different chefs, of three different nationalities – culinary icon Philippe Mouchel, Nobu's Christopher Shane Chan, and GG's Paul Dunlop – come together for five decadent, truffle-inspired courses. Fancy some wild barramundi with truffle crust, porcini mushroom ragout and champagne jus? How about some truffled ice nougat, lemongrass milk and coconut sorbet? Oh jeez, we're already salivating. This Saturday, together with CERES Urban Farm, The Grain Store is hosting Full Moon Dinner, a celebration of the season's best offerings. The Full Moon Dinner will start with canapés, mulled wine and a tour of the roof top garden, where holistic farmer James Sprunt will talk about the ancient traditions of lunar gardening before the dinner commences. Guests will then feast on an entrée, main and sweet treats with the choice of magnificent matched wines.
