Vision Blonde
If you're a blonde—ash, platinum or otherwise—you'll know that a good blonde specialist is pretty hard to come by. Burgerlove | St Kilda
If you know anything about burgers (and we can assure you that, here at The Urban List, we know just about everything about burgers), you'll have heard the name Burgerlove (formerly Cafe 51) mentioned with great reverence. Taking an artisan approach to the making of frozen yoghurt, Goje is a hipster vegan's dream: all of the products at Goje are cruelty free, vegan AND refined-sugar-free.
Hellenic Hotel
We are beginning to think there is nothing Masterchef judge George Calombaris can't accomplish. Following the culinary successes of The Press Club, Gazi, Hellenic Republic and Jimmy Grants, George's next project is Hellenic Hotel, a Greek style gastro-pub/restaurant in Williamstown. Spanning over two levels, the new Hellenic Hotel has all the characteristics of a great Australian pub we all know and love, whilst maintaining the integrity of the Hellenic culture, history, and food.

Mister and Miss
Mister and Miss is truly a match made in Mont Albert heaven. This massive contemporary warehouse-style cafe is constantly busy keeping local’s tummies and Instagrams very satisfied. All our party favourites are on the list: crushed avo, zucchini and corn fritters, buttermilk pancakes, soft shell crab burger (you know the drill).
Host
A newcomer to Brunswick's dining scene, Host is a beautiful, petite restaurant serving the best in local cuisine, hidden in a northside warehouse. Owned by Nedim and Majda Rahmanovic, previously of North Melbourne’s Twenty & Six Espresso café, the restaurant serves small sharing plates and larger dishes for hungrier diners, accompanied by an abbreviated wine list that's pretty much a 'best of' when it comes to more obscure tipples.
Little Rogue
This Melbourne café has gone a little rogue. There’s no smashed avocado, poached eggs or brunch menu in sight—but that doesn’t stop this pint-sized café from attracting a steady stream of caffeine-deprived visitors.

The proliferation of secret laneway bars behind non-descript doors in Melbourne is the stuff of legend—and now we have had yet another one gifted to us in the form of off-Greville cocktail, whiskey and cigar bar, Rufus. Melbourne, you're too good to us.
Fritz Gelato | Richmond
If we had a dollar for every time Fritz Gelato has won a "Best Gelato in Australia" award, we would be rich—and probably hunt down the owners to buy their entire business, just so we can eat their gelato eight days a week for free.

Smäk me, this health focused Scandinavian inspired restaurant is seriously cool. Located off Chapel Street, Smäk Food House has a very clean, minimalist vibe (but not minimal enough to make it pretentious), alongside the kind of menu that would turn any nutritionist on.

Jack B. Nimble
When the weekend rolls around, especially when it gets really cold in Melbourne, the majority of the city heads to the warmth of the big shopping centres to ease their aching bones. Once there, we tend to give in to the average chain cafes and food courts, accepting our ill-tasting food fate.

Hochi Mama
Hochi Mama, located in the CBD, offers crisp and vibrant modern Vietnamese food with a menu that is all about sharing with your mates. Although, we highly doubt there would be much sharing going around, seeing as their menu is full of drool worthy, "yes I actually do mind if you eat that last bit" chopstick lickin' options.
White Mojo
Positioned in the famous Hardware Lane in the CBD, the modern Asian-inspired White Mojo is such a hit amongst eager brunch-goers that a second store in Balwyn is already underway. When she doesn’t return, you reach for the door, thinking there must’ve been a mix-up. It’s locked. What the hell is going on?!
