For all the foodies out there it’s a pretty good time to be going out, dining in or just treating yourself all round with the crazy good line-up of dreamy food happenings around Auckland. New season menus are out, favourite brands are releasing fresh new products and there is chocolate on chocolate with Easter-inspired treats left, right and centre.

Josh Emett's New Cookbook Is A Must For Every Foodie

Forty Thieves Has A New Flavour

Ostro’s Has A New Autumn Menu

Embracing the change of season is a favourite Auckland spot, bringing some brand new heart-warming dishes that will blow your taste-buds away. Ostro Head Chef Josh Shields and Executive Chef Josh Emett have created new seasonal dishes that celebrate local produce and bold flavours. Amongst the new menu is crispy pork belly, creamed brussels sprouts, black pudding, sherry caramel and sage–perfect for a chilly evening. The braised lamb loin shoulder, roman gnocchi kokihi, parsnip puree and chartreuse jus is also a new menu item, be sure to head along and give them a try.

The Caker Goes Next Level For Easter

The Easter Egg Hunt Cake is a raspberry and caramelised white chocolate cake, topped with lightly infused matcha cream cheese icing, garnished with cookie soil, dried edible flower petals, micro-greens and House of Chocolate eggs. Han’s Announces New Menu

The much-loved modern Korean restaurant is launching a new menu that is definitely worth getting excited about. Han’s traditional Korean flavours have a contemporary spin that makes each dish unique and fun, and always delicious. New dishes on the lunch menu include the Karbonara—a Korean take on the classic Italian dish, with taro stems, smoked pork belly, Hawke’s Bay walnuts and crispy free-range chicken served with a creamy sauce. The dinner menu also has indulgent new dishes such as the Pork ssam—traditional DIY Korean wrap with spicy free-range pork belly, perilla leaves, lettuce, daikon kimchi and Korean miso. 

Bird On A Wire Opens In Tauranga

Auckland’s greatest free-range chicken eatery is spreading its wings and expanding into Tauranga. Bird on a Wire will be opening its first store outside of Auckland, in Tauranga’s newest shopping centre, Tauranga Crossing. Serving up the same dishes we know and love, the signature rotisserie chicken, fresh salads, burgers and baguettes will all be on offer. The wholesome yet seriously tasty food makes for the perfect quick and easy lunch, that is good for you too. If you are passing through or are a Tauranga local be sure to pop in and check it out.

Hotel DeBrett’s Is Where You Want To Be This Easter

Partnering with Wellington’s Bohemein Fresh Chocolates for the month of April, Hotel DeBrett invites you along to their Bohemein Easter. With special, chocolatey additions to their menus, there is every opportunity to indulge. For breakfast, there are fluffy bohemian crepes with dark chocolate, berries, crème Chantilly and milk chocolate cremeux. For dessert, there is the dark chocolate pavlova with chocolate crumb, mandarin, meringue, raspberry sorbet and white chocolate foam. Amongst these delightful dishes is the high tea which will also have a Bohemein Easter twist, and daily in the DeBretts Lounge are Bohemein hot cross buns and hot chocolate drinks, as well as ‘choc’tails for something with a kick.
