When it comes to eating out, sticking to one dish isn’t everyone’s idea of a good time. More often than not, you’re instilled with a hefty dose of food envy and have to resist the temptation of sneaking a bite of your partner’s dish. Not ideal at all. This is where Ponsonby’s new all-day eatery, AdamArnold comes in. 

Sitting along Ponsonby road, the spot (formerly occupied by Lulu’s café) has been totally transformed into a casual yet classy eatery by partners, Tobias Ward and Brad Roebuck. Both having worked in the hospitality industry, the idea to open a space of their own came from juggling their face-paced lives with their love of good food. 

The eatery is decked out with marble, gold, blue velvet and bright, white walls and caters for those looking for a spot to eat and catch up after the daily grind. 

You’ll find tasty morsels such as pea, mint and feta smash, creamy garlic and white wine mussels, jerk spiced chicken and sliced sirloin steak alongside a New Zealand-focused wine list. Earlier in the day, AdamArnold dishes out everything from French toast to BLT bagels, seafood eggs bene and Velo coffee. The one thing you won’t come across, however, is a freezer (or a deep-fryer for that matter). Local suppliers drop off ingredients seven days a week, which means you can be sure that whatever lands in front of you is super duper fresh.  

AdamArnold combines a mellow atmosphere with great food and lovely service—pretty much everything you could want from an all-day restaurant. So, if you’re in the market for a new brekkie or after-work wine-down pozzy, you know where to go.
