Yet another exciting new venue is opening its doors in Fortitude Valley's M&A lane this week, with the arrival of rustic Italian venue, Locanda Osteria & Bar.
Inspired by the rural fare of Northern Italy, and the Italians' casual approach to dining with family and friends, laid-back Locanda promises to be a great fit with the already much-hyped dining venues popping up in the lane (check out the other M&A newbies, Mighty Mighty and Papa Jack's here).
With Executive Chef Daniel Jones at the helm (he hails from Cha Cha Char among other exceptional venues), you won't find your standard Italian fare on offer here, but the menu will be bursting with homely recipes that have been borrowed from the small, family run eateries of Italy. While you may be largely unacquainted with the line up, the breadth of choice will leave you with plenty of opportunities to get familiar, with snacks, share plates, as well as the expected antipasti, pastas, salads, secondi, and desserts. They'll also be using a North-Italian style spit-roast in house, so you know this menu will be big on flavour.
The wine list is equally authentic, with wines imported straight from Italy, as well as an impressive Australian selection.
We predict this spot will be a hit with the precinct's after-work crowd with a hankering for some antipasti and glass of vino.
