We’ve all got some kind of memory ingrained with motorcycles, whether that be riding plastic ones around the back deck as a kid, or sitting on your dad’s lap as he hopped cow pats in a paddock. But whether you’re a fan of the two-wheeled vehicles or not, you’re going to want to hit the revved up new exhibition coming to QAGOMA in November 2020.
Exclusive to Brisbane, The Motorcycle will feature more than 100 innovative and influential motorcycles, viewed through the perspective of social history, popular culture, design and technology. Whether you’re a motorsport enthusiast or simply curious about the vehicular history of the humble powered bike, this exhibition has something for everyone.
Think the world’s oldest steam-powered motorcycle, uber cool custom-designed bikes that intersect technology and design, and ultra-modern electric motorcycles, showcasing the endless possibilities of where motorcycles can go in the future. Is anyone else picturing Tron?
If your wheels aren’t already turning, The Motorcycle will also be accompanied by a range of special programs and events, including Up Late, where you can peruse the bikes with a drink in hand. Cruise in while you can, The Motorcycle is only in town for five months.
