This one's a game-changer if you're a current Geelong to Melbourne commuter, or you're looking to move down the highway.
As of December 2019, you will officially be able to bypass the West Gate traffic and hop aboard a brand new vessel travelling directly from Geelong to Melbourne.
Port Phillip Ferries currently run services from Docklands to Port Arlington to help you explore the Bellarine Peninsula.
Offering daily services, there will be a licensed café, free bike racks, charging stations, free Wi-Fi and, obviously, the most scenic work route possible in Melbourne. Their new vessel will be able to transport 400 people with indoor and outdoor seating available, so you can enjoy a coffee (or wine) while reading your newspaper.
There will be boarding ramps that facilitate wheelchairs, motorised mobility scooters and prams, so everyone is welcome aboard. It’s time to sit back, relax and let Port Phillip Ferries do all the work for you as you prepare yourself for the busy day ahead.
