Okay guys, Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend is coming up next week. And you have to decide whether you’re gonna spend it sitting on the couch eating Nutrigrain out of the box (let’s call that your backup plan), or road tripping country Victoria like a professional badass.
We vote for the latter.
The good news is, Heathcote On Show is running all long weekend. It’s a massive annual festival that celebrates the best food + wine in the Goldfields region. We’re talking vertical wine tastings (that’ll leave you horizontal), winery dinners, long lunches, masterclasses, live tunes, vintage launches and over 20 cellar doors doing their thing.
You could spend about 3-hours browsing the festival program, but we’ve got our eye on craft beer tasting at Palling Bros. Brewery, the High Street Heathcote Festival (Saturday 9 June, 10am – 3pm at Barrack Reserve), and Burlesque De Vine (a four-course French banquet with burlesque dancers, tickets here).
To get to Heathcote, just head north past the Airport on the C325. If you’re thinking overnight accommodation, there’s a few good B&Bs nearby, or you can just stay in Bendigo (it’s about 30mins away).
Where: Heathcote (various)
When: 9 – 11 June

Pop this one in the diary too—there's a Gin Night Market on next week.
