The team at The Lucas Group never stop. Not far from revamping Chin Chin, and opening Kisume in the CBD, their next project is well in the works—and it will take the form of a French bistro on the site of an old Flight Centre.
By the end of the year, the team plans to open the 80-seat on the Paris end of Bourke Street, and will call it Batard.
“I’ve spent a great deal of my past visiting all corners of France and like many,
dreamed of having my own little bistro. I’m somewhat of a nostalgic and want to bring
some of that romance to Melbourne with my own touch at Batard. I mean, who doesn’t
love steak frites with a glass of Burgundy?”
The menu is expected to focus on steak in many forms and will feature slow-cooked meat dishes that will be perfect for those cold Melbourne winter nights.
The venue will also feature a rooftop bar, and basement cellar.
Batard will be at 19-21 Bourke Street. Follow their journey via Instagram @batard.
