Food Trucks Flock to New Abbotsford Bar

It’s a well-known fact among locals that some of Melbourne’s best offerings hide in “it’s-not-dodgy-I-promise” alleyways, up “I-hope-I-don’t-die” staircases or, in this case, a warehouse attached to the back of a shoe store.

Abbotsford’s Lulie St Tavern is teaming up with Cluster Truck to bring you oh-so conveniently located food trucks for the rest of May and all through June. It’s going to be a partaay. And a cheap one at that!

Featuring a different wheelie mobile every Friday and Saturday night, the deliciously greasy line up so far includes Sliders on TyresLa Revolucion, Senor BBQ and Snag Society. We’re expecting some legendary Melbourne street eats to make an appearance through the season.

With winter well and truly on its way, there’s no better excuse to curl up in Lulie St Tavern with this kind of amazingly tasty offering. Food Truck business can quieten significantly in Melbourne’s cold weather months and the Lulie St Tavern x Cluster Truck event aims to give owners a last hurrah before winter well and truly sets in (as if you needed more reason to go).

Food trucks are expected to park in the undercover area attached to the side of the building. That’s right Listers—you don’t need to brace against the cold to get your hands on this grub!

Lulie St Tavern itself is notable for its low-key character. Its current Abbotsford home (including Taranto shoes at the front) is set to be demolished in just two years. The stripped back area boasts exposed concrete, yellow-tinged brick and wide low hanging lamps. But you’d be crazy to think atmosphere suffered. Lulie is an honest and laid-back Melbourne bar, the perfect happy combination of affordable drinks and casual festivity.

Jump on Lulie St Tavern or Cluster Truck's Facebook pages to keep up to date with which foodie visitors will be rolling in when. Food trucks are not normally allowed in the City of Yarra, but because Lulie is privately owned they can come and go as they please. Even better for Abbotsford locals wanting to nibble on these foodie creations without going very far at all.
