As we are in the thick of the colder months, the summer stubble has been outgrown and replaced by many parading the streets of Melbourne with their winter whiskers. Whether your excuse is a fashionable face-warmer, an occupational-friendly barista beard, or you’ve lost your razor, the team behind the Mid Winter Beard Fest are using the excuse to help raise funds and awareness in the fight against melanoma.
This Sunday 12th July from 6 -10pm, there will be bands, booze and beards in the same convenient location of 73 Cromwell Street, Collingwood. The dancing tunes will be supplied by blues/funk/psych/country/rock swaggers Sgt York, New Orleans infused brass aficionados Immortal Horns, and DJ Petty Crimes. Entry to the Mid Winter Beard Fest is free, and all profits from the bar—thanks to Moon Dog Craft Brewery, Kulara Estate, Arktika Vodka and Sailor Jerry—will be donated to the This Is Beard Season project. You’ll be able to score some goods from the event sponsors American Crew Australia, Swisse Wellness Australia, MYER and VICE.
All donations from Mid Winter Beard Fest will be used to spread awareness and action in the fight against melanoma. Get grooming and finesse those follicles for the Mid Winter Beard Fest, men of Melbourne!
