If you love a good snoop around interiors that you’d usually only dream of peeking inside, then grab your diaries and get Open House Melbourne penned in them! That’s right, Melbourne’s annual festival of architecture and design (or creeping around other people’s properties, you decide…), Open House is headed our way later this month.
Open House Melbourne 2015 sees over 100 of Melbourne’s most beautiful buildings open their doors to the general public on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July. Visitors will be given the chance to explore some of the city’s most lavish buildings, including the Supreme Court, Parliament House, the Myer Mural Hall and The Hotel Windsor, as well as more unusual locations including Circus Oz’s Collingwood headquarters, the green roof on top of the University of Melbourne, Russell Place Substation and Luna Park.
There are heaps of special events running, too. Ever wondered what the buildings of the future will look like, or what goes on inside Sportsgirl’s HQ? Better yet, fancy a walking tour of one of Melbourne’s tastiest suburbs? Visit the Smart Flexibility exhibition, lock in a date at the Sussan Sportsgirl building, or get yourself to the Eat Street tour of North Melbourne.
While most of the properties will be open to all for self-guided yours, some of them are ticketed, so make sure you secure your tickets via the Open House Melbourne website from today (Wednesday 8th July). Get booking, folks!
