It’s always hard to decide what’s good in Melbourne over the warmer months, there’s just a plethora of choice—and Sweetstock is about to add to your woes.

The creators of Meatstock are bringing a whole new festival to Melbourne in March 2020, Sweetstock will be a two-day festival celebrating everything that’s good in the baking world, with a bit of music on the side.

Cake battles, dessert challenges and sweet food trucks will all be present at Melbourne Showground for Sweetstock, which will also see popular US cake aficionado Duff Goldman of Charm City Cakes hit Melbourne for a one-off masterclass.

Some of Australia’s best bakers will come together for the 60-minute SBS Food Australia Cake Battle where teams of three, from home cooks to professionals will challenge each other in various categories, including cupcake, cheesecake, pavlova, pie, tart and chef’s choice where $5,000 is on the line for each challenge.

If you fancy hitting the competition eating circuit you can also take part in the Donut Throwdown which will pit eater against eater to eat as many doughnuts in 3-minutes. The winner will take home $2,000.

On the music front, Sweetstock has announced that Sneaky Sound System will take centre stage with more acts to be announced soon.
