You guys, July is almost over! We’re cramming some awesome events into the last week or two of the month—expect cycling (well, watching Le Tour de France), crafting (…or buying stuff that other people have crafted if you’re as creatively challenged as me), and a whole lot of tasty food and drinks events. Here’s our pick of things to do in Melbourne this weekend!

Thursday 23rd

Coburg Drive-In Food Truck Festival Returns

If you’re a comic book fan with a love for food truck fare, you’d better hop on your wheels and get to Coburg Drive-In Cinema for the last night of its latest food truck event series. Catch Ant-Man, the latest Marvel Universe film, while chomping on tasty treats from Taco Truck, Senor Churros, Beatbox Kitchen, Donutella doughnuts and more. Beep-beep!

Pick Up Awesome Fashion Finds at Melbourne A La Mode

Whether it’s designer vintage or new season style from local boutique labels you’re after, Melbourne A La Mode is a must-visit for fashion fans. The three-day event in The George Ballroom, Fitzroy Street, begins with a VIP opening party tonight from 6pm, which features champagne, designer bargains and music. Duck Masterclass With Ian Curley

Learn about poultry from a pro in Ian Curley (head chef at Spring Street eatery The European) as part of The Urban Kitchen’s latest cooking series. Expect to get messy—The Urban Kitchen has 44 cooking stations, so you’ll be cooking rather than just watching—and enjoy cheese and wine thanks to Spring Street Grocers after the hard work’s done. Nite Art 2015 Hits The CBD

Nite Art 2015 celebrates the best art after dark in Melbourne’s CBD. Combining exhibitions with one-off events and seminars, you’ll find everything from cutting-edge light art to weird and wonderful sculptures set alongside human biological specimens (Gross? Arty? Catch Le Tour With Mighty Boy & Domestique

Calling all cycling fans! Pop-up bar Domestique is showing the Alps stages of the Tour De France every night this weekend from 5pm. All Things Now Paintings At Modern Times

Local painter Sarah Kelk takes over Fitzroy-Collingwood art and interiors store Modern Times to showcase her latest series titled All Things Now. The show opens from 6pm—drop by for a hit of local culture.

Friday 24th

European Night Market at Madame Brussels Lane

Pierogi! Pretzels! Vats of mulled cider! If you’re anything like us, you’ll love European winter night markets but lament how far away from the action you are…Never fear! Rug up and get down to Madame Brussels Lane on Friday from 5pm for a host of Europe-inspired festivities and food from Eastern Bloc, The Brulee Cart and more. Nom.

The Great Georgian Supra at Mr Lawrence

Mr Lawrence at The London hosts an evening of Georgian wine paired with delicious food, which hopes to uncover some mysteries of one of the oldest wine producing regions in the world, Georgia. The Great Georgian Supra not only showcases wines from the region, but the Mr Lawrence kitchen will be cooking up a feast to match. Sinister Beauty At Strange Neighbour

Snoop Around Awesome Properties at Open House 2015

There are tonnes of buildings and organisations taking part, with ticketed tours as well as free events running on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Love arts and crafts? You’d better grab your wallet and get down to 1000£ Bend this Saturday (and Sunday) from 12 noon until 5pm for a showcase of all the crafty talent that Melbourne has to offer! The Bend & Snap Market features local makers and doers, along with tasty food and drinks from the 1000£ team. A must for a dose of creative inspiration.

The Creators Market at Prahran Market

Unplugged Live at the NGV

This week, Perth musician Katy Steele collaborates with artist Kristin Headlam as part of the NGV’s Sunday session series, held on the 3rd floor of the gallery’s main building from 2pm. The music-art combo is one of our top free things to do in Melbourne this week. Ker-ching!
