I may have joked about the cold weather before Listers, but this is getting ridiculous. Not to worry, there are plenty of warm‘n'cosy events happening this weekend, from new foodie events to workshops, and outdoor markets to indoor films! Check out the best things to do in Melbourne this weekend!
LIDO CINEMA OPENS | HAWTHORN
Skip the lines and dodgy side seats at the big city theatres, Melbourne’s hot new boutique cinema has arrived. The Lido opens this Thursday in Hawthorn and we’ve tipped it as one of this city’s best local hotspots. Check out the Glenferrie Road cinema this weekend! It’s also a perfectly legitimate adult excuse to see Disney’s new film Inside Out. Or if you’re a proper martyr, you can see Human Centipede 3 on Friday night, when Monster Fest’s weekly Friday Fright Night kicks off..
TINDERELLA | CHAPEL OFF CHAPEL
In what could very possibly be a disastrous move, international cabaret star Noni McCallum is combining technology with her hilarious new show Tinderella. For the entire hour show McCallum will give one audience member unadulterated access to her Tinder account in a truly horrifying matchmaking attempt. We’re pretty sure this solo cabaret performance is going to be delightfully awkward. Check it out at The Loft at Chapel off Chapel from Thursday to Saturday this week at 8.30pm. Tickets for Tinderella are available here.
DAREBIN PROJECTION FESTIVAL
Take a drive this Friday around Darebin to check out some of the brightest art this winter. Four artists across five locations in the Darebin City Council will be displaying their best bright-light works this Friday and Saturday from 6pm-11pm, so why not cosy-up this winter and whizz around the ‘burbs for a spectacular night out.

Running from 10.30am to 2.30pm, this is a must for those interested in taking their home BBQs to the ultimate level. It’s $150 per person, but you’ll save with your mad future sausage-making skillz. Goodie bag included (yay!). Email Bar Idda or call at 9380 5339 to book your spot.
