Start celebrating with Prahran Market’s Taste The Truffle Trail, which gives you the chance to sample the festival’s best truffle-inspired creations. Think Damien Pike, a wild mushroom specialist, and his truffled Dijon mayo with a truffled infused egg on brioche. Yeah we want his job too, Listers.
Sweet-tooths need not worry either, there are plenty of ways to use the precious produce in sweets, as artisan chocolatier Cioccolato Lombardo proves. Their truffled chocolate-rich dessert is sure to impress even sceptics.
If you’re a little skittish about using the very expensive, very delicate, very delicious fungus in cooking, we totally get you. Cooking is stressful enough with everyday ingredients amirite? Renowned chefs Karen Martini and Alice Zaslavsky have gotchu covered. Leading the weekend in an expert line up which includes the head chef deities from Charlie Dumpling and Pei Modern, you’ll be whizzing up truffle flavoured everything soon enough.
Finally, bringing you back to your childhood but with a hella lot more class is the Truffle Hunt. Watch expert top dogs hunt out truffles across five different truffieres, then enjoy eating them!
