Food, glorious food! This weekend in Melbourne is chockas full of fancy feeds and tasty treats, but there's also plenty to learn, see and do. The races aren't finished yet, and Good Food Month is not disappointing with an epic spread of events. So grab your mates, ditch the diet, and go forth and enjoy this list of things to do in Melbourne!

Thursday 6th

Fancy yourself the next Margaret or David? If so, you won't want to miss the Emirates British Film Festival, which announced its program yesterday! Consisting of 21 titles including 13 Australian premieres, this curated selection of films is perfect for the Brit buff. Feeling up for some fusion? Then you'll love the wicked combo of Jacques Reymond and Saigon Sally's Adrian Li, as they explore the history of French influences on Vietnamese cuisine! Indochine is part of the fabulous plethora of events that is Good Food Month, and this is definitely a great pick! Serving up fresh dishes that demonstrate the combination of these two styles, this epic evening is bound to book out fast.

If the race that stops the nation wasn't enough of a fix for you, then you'll want to strut your fashion and betting prowess on Oaks day! There are heaps of activities on around town, Stokehouse City are celebrating with canapés, a two-course lunch and petit fours, not to mention a sweep, prize for best dressed and live screening of the races. Other groovy places to celebrate in style are Melba and Campari House in the CBD, Lamaros in South Melbourne, and plenty more!

Fed Square, Melbourne's hub of cultural activity, is kicking off its awesome live music series tonight! Running through the summer season, outdoor concerts will host some of Melbourne's most talented artists. Live events are scheduled for every Thursday evening until the 26th of March. Consider yourself a crafter? Here's a ripper class for you then, brought to you by the epic Age Good Food Month. St Ali in South Melbourne is hosting a fabulous fermentation class! Attendees will be taught about the processes and benefits of the preservation technique. Learn how to make beet kvass, kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi, apple and rose cider elixir, yoghurt and more; this class will show you that with flavours like this, fresh is so passé.

Friday 7th

David Bowie, a documentary film of the David Bowie is exhibition, created by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, shows the final night of the sell-out show! Australian audiences will be treated to a sneak peak of what to expect when the exhibition visits Melbourne Town. You're under pressure to buy tickets before they sell out, so don't be a space oddity and check out the session times now!

Think Education is bringing you an awesome three-day festival that's all about ch-ch-ch-ch-changes (sorry, it's hard to get over David Bowie)! But seriously, the Festival of Change will inspire people to alter something in their life they've always wanted to. Say like their career, health, image or lifestyle. With over 150 free events and workshops covering design, fashion, beauty, health, food, hospitality and business, get creative at a Chocolate Meditation Workshop. Spend this Friday in fabulous Neo-Tokyo style at Saké Restaurant & Bar in Melbourne. City favourite, Cumulus Up (upstairs from Cumulus Inc.) is hosting a drool-worthy event today at their Cellar Door. The kitchen is set to roast a whole pig, offering visitors a crispy pork bun to accompany their journey through the Geelong region of wine. Wine and crispy pork? We'll be worried if you don't want to go to this one!

Melbourne is catching up to the vermouth trend, and Bomba aims to celebrate the fact that it's not just another ingredient in the classic martini. Served up as a carafe of sangria, a Spanish spritz, or a Casa Mariol Vermut Negre. With paella and traditional Spanish tapas, this is set to be a lovely afternoon session!
