Grab your skis and gumboots, people, because Victoria is in for one hell of a Winter ride this week. According to the weather overlords at the Bureau of Meteorology, we’re getting HEAVY SNOW throughout the state, with thunderstorms, hail and 100km/hr winds topping things off.
It’s all because of
God's wrath at Pauline Hanson getting voted back in a huge cold swell that’s coming in from the south, bringing with it freezing winds and many, many snowflakes in areas including Mount Buller, Mount Hotham and Kyneton over the next 2-3 days.
There are severe weather warnings due to the increased wind speed and rain/hail/snow forecasts, recommending that basically everyone, everywhere, makes sure they haven’t parked their cars under any unstable trees, or left that surfboard propped up against the garage wall without tying it down. What’s next, a plague of locusts?
In light of the weather announcement, we’ve been weighing up our options…
#1: Batten down the hatches and head to your nearest pub with a fireplace.
#2: Layer up all your black clothing ever, to make sure you’re fully prepared for Winter.
#3: Fashion your doona into a toga and get Netflix binging on all the TV shows you’re not watching but should be.
#4: Get out of the country to a northern hemisphere destination where you can still get epic avo on toast.
#5: …Or brave the cold like a loony and get your Winter watersports game on.
Either way, it’s going to be a rough week, Melbourne. Rug up!
