After rocking our world with The Flour Factory, Varnish on King and Caballitos, we thought Andy Freeman was just going to take over the west end of Perth, but he's keeping us on our toes with his latest venue—Hadiqa—which is opening down the eastern end of the city at Hibernian Place tomorrow.
Hadiqa is set to be the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city thanks to the lush rooftop garden, the insanely delicious eats and the drool-worthy cocktails—all inspired by the Middle East. Think crushed ice cocktails, dehydrated baby rose petals and refreshing drinks served in gold-rimmed Moroccan tea glasses, but the drink you should be getting really excited about is the Turkish Delight Martini.
Millenial pink in colour with a piece of real Turkish delight as the garnish, it's a dream come true for your Insta feed AND your taste buds. If you're not into the sweet stuff, The Cafe de Fes—Ketel One, cold drip vermouth, Campari and soda—will probably be right up your alley. There is also a very impressive wine list which is heavy on the WA wines with a few international drops thrown in for good measure.
When it comes to the food, think Middle Eastern flavours like harissa, ras el hanout, tahini and orange blossom and you're on the right track. There will be freshly baked bread, plenty of snacks and a few mains, all perfect for sharing. If you're a fan of Yotam Ottolenghi (who isn't?!) then we reckon you'll be booking yourself a table quick smart.
Hadiqa opens Friday 27 April at 12pm, so get down there STAT!
