It's been a big week for Rottnest Island, and it would be fair to say we're flippin' excited.
First up, work officially started on building the new eco village at Pinky's Beach yesterday so if everything goes to plan we should all be glamping in style by the end of this year! In case you've had your head in the sand, the retreat will be home to 83 luxury eco tents and the new Pinky's Beach Club where you'll find a swimming pool, a bar and some new dining options—so yeah, it's going to be big.
But as if that wasn't enough, the guys behind the iconic Hotel Rottnest have just announced they'll be building a massive $30million resort. We've got a little while longer to wait for this one—estimated completion time is 2020—but we're going to go ahead and say it will definitely be worth wait.
The resort will see 80 new rooms built—including suites, beachfront villas and two massive beachfront executive suites which span two levels and feature their own private pools—but that's just the start.
There will also be a couple of pools—one of those being a panoramic oceanfront infinity pool (!!!)—a day spa and wellness centre, a gym featuring a yoga and pilates courtyard and last but not least, an OUTDOOR ROOFTOP BAR! We're dead.
While we love the charm of the Rotto beach shack, we'd probably be willing to trade in the sandy beds and the 80s couches for this for a day or two.
As if you needed any more reason to go, here are 8 of Rotto's most Insta-worthy spots.
