So all the Christmas and New Year celebrations are over and you're feeling a little sad. We hear you! Luckily for you guys, we've found some extra special events for you this weekend to make the real world that little bit easier.

This weekend will be full of funnies, music gigs, a little sport, some bevvies and of course…hilarious cat videos. Here’s what’s on this weekend in Perth.

Friday 15 January

JOEL CREASEY | PERTH

Starting out in the comedy world at the tender age of 19, Joel Creasey, now 23, has quickly become one of Australia’s best comedians. Not only can he tell an amazing story, but he is also known for his intelligent observations about the world around him and for making hilariously controversial comments. Grab dinner before the show in Mount Lawley and you’ve got yourself a perfect Friday night.

NATHAN BROOKER: FOREIGN PERSPECTIVES | PERTH

Nathan Brooker is a little Perth born superstar that has a natural talent for all things arty. He will be hosting the opening night for his new exhibition, titled Foreign Perspectives. This body of work is Nathan’s first solo show and stems from his investigations in to theorisations of non-place and how painting can highlight its existence. But in normal people terms…his paintings are on point.

2016 INTERNATIONAL CAT VIDEO FESTIVAL | NORTHBRIDGE

Not only is this the purrrfect opportunity to meet and greet some fellow crazy cat ladies…but you also wouldn’t want to meows-out on the 65 minute screening of the best cat vids of all time. You could even get your little fur baby on the big screen by entering your own home video! There will be kitty face painting and even a catwalk for the best-dressed furry ensemble. What more could you ask for?

SUNDOWNER SESSIONS | FREMANTLE

Sundowner Sessions is back for 2016 and we are beyond excited! This Saturday night The Rubens and The Preatures will be gracing us with their insane musical talents and putting on a performance that you’ll never forget. Grab the gang together and head down to Freo town to enjoy some quality eats and drinks while listening to the most energetic music line-up yet.

KFC BIG BASH LEAGUE | PERTH

The Perth Scorchers are tearing up the Big Bash League this year and everyone should be there to celebrate their last home game before the finals. BEND IT LIKE BISKY | PERTH

Did someone say FREE YOGA?! We did! Perth girl and Insta-star Amanda Bisk will be hosting this fabulous outdoor yoga event on Sunday morning. SLAM BEACH VOLLEYBALL FESTIVAL | SCARBOROUGH

Dubbed ‘the world’s loudest beach volleyball festival’ this is set to be an awesome Sunday spent with friends and family on the beach—whether you register a team and win some awesome prizes or you're just there to cheer til’ your hearts content. After the competition, there will be some delicious food and bevvies for everyone to enjoy. Game on!

ROOFTOP TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS | PERTH

To celebrate tennis season, The Aviary is holding a Rooftop Table Tennis Championship competition every Sunday throughout January. To participate, all you have to do is purchase a $15 Pimm's cocktail or a $35 Pimm's Pitcher (which serves 4 of you rowdy animals).
