Bad luck and embarrassment follows comedian Brianna Williams around like a bad smell…and luckily for us she has turned it into a one-woman sketch comedy show titled ‘Little Mountain Goblin’ as a part of this years Fringe World. Oakover Grounds and Gage Roads Brewing Co are bringing you one of the most anticipated art exhibitions of 2016 this weekend. Jerome Davenport delivers a show of 30 works over two days in the newest art space on Old Aberdeen Place in West Perth. The aerosol artist displays the most lifelike and powerful paintings with the use of light and water throughout his exhibition to appreciate the female form in all its glory. If that didn’t make any sense to you non-arty folk, we suggest you just head down to check it out and thank us later.

They call him the Master Mentalist—he is a mind reader, a thought influencer and a predictor and he has performed in over 42 countries, been on prime time TV in the USA and the UK and has worked with celebrities including Jerry Seinfeld, Kimmy K and even performed at Barbara Streisand’s 70th birthday. After many international tours and shows he is visiting our little corner of the globe and we are freaked out and excited at the same time. We suggest you hit up YouTube for a better understanding of this amazing human like we did. We’ve watched the videos and let’s just say we can’t even deal.

Sunday 14 February

Now we all know that Laneway is this V-day but we think you should ditch that dreaded tinder date and head down to Freo for the awesome Laneway Festival. Even though tickets are sold out, we would suggest having a little staunch on Facebook for a spare ticket or two—there’s bound to be someone who isn’t brave enough to battle the heat. Another alternative is bumming at a local Freo cafe and listening from afar with a little side of people watching. No lines, stink-free toilets and table service!

Where: Fremantle
When: 11.30, 14 February

This Sunday afternoon we will be welcoming in the Chinese New Year and the year of the monkey! Head down to Northbridge (between Lake Street, James Street and China Town) to enjoy all the festive fun that the Chinese have to offer. There will be street performances every half an hour on James Street that will consist of traditional lion and dragon dances, a Chinese costume parade, the forever committed (and maybe slightly annoying to the ears) WA Police Pipe Band and an amazing multicultural concert from 7pm to close the evening. Food trucks and stalls will be running all to day to fill your bellies with traditional Chinese yummies.

Where: Lake St—James St, China Town, Northbridge
When: 12 noon, 14 February

If you’re all by your lonesome this V-day, fear not—we have curated the most amazing list of places to go if you're looking to meet someone special. From a hot and sweaty music festival, to Fringe World and errr...bowling, we can guarantee that there will be something here for you. Check out where you can meet people this Valentine’s Day in Perth.

Now this is a little shout out for all the couples out there! We know you cop a lot of slack from the singles, but this is your day to shine. Get your lover out of their trackie-dacks and force them to celebrate like the loved up person they are. Try heading to the Little Cheese Shop to dine with some fellow dairy fanatics, hitting up You Plate It for a romantic in-home dinner service or getting a little swanky with the folks at Bistro Guillaume for some Frenchy Goodness. Make sure you check out where to celebrate with your loved one this Valentine’s Day.
