This Weekend In Perth

It is officially the last weekend of summer and the weather is looking absolutely smashing, which is good news for you! Whether you’re heading over to Rottnest to help the swimmers celebrate, looking to get around some local markets or enjoy a good Sunday sesh, we’ve got something for you.

Here’s what’s on this weekend in Perth.

Friday 26 February

Home Is Where The Heart Is (True Story!)

Need some help making your home your own? Studio Anthro, with the help of Artist Open House Fremantle founder, Cathrina Read and Empire Homewares Owner and Designer Renee Coleman can help you out. If there is anyone we would trust with our homes, it would be these guys!

Dianas and Doctapus

Support the local music scene and head to the Bird on Friday night to see two Perth bands, Dianas and Doctapus make their 2016 debut. They’ll be joined by special guest Eva Niollet feat. Ben Witt. Even if you’re not a muso make the most of the warm weather and have a drink in the courtyard.

Mega Market Place #3

With nothing over $50, this market is a bargain hunters dream. Think homewares, fashion and food. The best part? They have pop up change rooms so you can actually try the clothes on. No more buyers’ remorse when you get home.

Rottnest Channel Swim

The first wave of swimmers will be taking off from Cott bright and early at 5:45am and the final wave at 7:45am if you want to go head down to the beach and cheer them on. If Friday night wasn’t kind to you and you need a sleep in, why not head over to Rotto a little later. Hotel Rottnest is open from 10am with extended license areas, multiple bars and pop up food stalls to keep you going.

The Next Backyard Artisan Market And Pop Up Bar

After an absolutely cracking market in December, the Backyard Artisan Market is back this weekend. With markets stalls, delicious food, live music and a pop up bar ,this artisan market is one to put in to the diary.

Little Market Place 1st Birthday Bash

Bringing local WA designers, boutiques and creatives together in one space for a year is an impressive achievement. To celebrate, the Little Market Place is going be giving out free goodies galore. They’re also launching the Boy Zone this weekend so bring the lads along!

Ricky Green: Summer Concerts

Outdoor summer concerts are the best, especially when they’re free! Take a picnic with you or check out what the food trucks have to offer, then sit back and relax to the soothing sounds of WA local Ricky Green.

Guildhall Sunday Session

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Guildhall yet, here’s your chance. The pop up bar is only open on the last Sunday of each month so make the most of the epic cocktails from Mechanics Institute, delish food from Propellor and a DJ spinning fun tracks all arvo.

Brisbane Vintage ‘16

Margaret River winery Blind Corner is getting comfortable at the Brisbane Hotel and letting you join in to make a single vineyard, small batch wine. If you feel like getting your hands (or feet) dirty you can volunteer for shovelling or foot crushing on Friday night, or processing with the hand crank on Saturday. Did we mention you get to drink wine while you do this?

Pick Your Own Mangos

Mango season is almost over, a depressing thought I know. Solution: pick all of the mangos then gorge until you can’t look at another mango until next year. Head to the Perth Mango Farm and go nuts!

ISPS HANDA Perth International

Calling all golf nerds, the Perth International golf tournament is already underway and will be finishing up on Sunday. We hear a couple of the pros were wishing for warmer weather when they touched down in Perth earlier this week, so go and watch them enjoy the sun on Saturday #becarefulwhatyouwishfor!
